What's the weather forecast in Daytona?  Are we going to have an actual night race?

Also, it's fewer, not less.  Sorry.

Fewer.

cameroncrazy1984: What does "Wide Open Coverage" mean?

TNT's way of saying less commercials and side-by-side, but just for this race only. Actually made it just a *bit* nice last year.

So my bookie (bovda) has Danica at 33/1 to win...

that's better than both Labonte brothers (both former points champs)
Bobby 66/1
Terry 150/1
and
a former 500 winner Trevor Bayne at 50/1

the betting public is very weird...
/I bet a dollar on her

So... I'm getting into Nascar... but could you knowledgeable  Farkers help me out with some questions?

What's up with the 'lucky dog' thing? I know what it is... but I don't understand why they do it.

Do cars not on the lead lap get to finish the race? And if not (I don't see 'em do it)... how do they decide who placed where?

Thanks!!

Back in the old days they used to race back to the caution flag, and you got your lap back by passing the leader. When they did away with racing back to the caution, the instituted the lucky dog rule to make up for it.

When the checkered flag waves you are finished racing, no matter how many laps behind you are. The finishing order is determined by what lap you are on.  Example; If there's 18 cars on the lead lap, the first car a lap down will finish 19th, and so on.

The last time I had heart surgery, I needed to be awake, and I felt them touch my heart from the inside. It was cool.

This time, I was again awake. and felt them cut through the middle of my heart, insert the stent, and everything else they did. It wasn't as cool...
