I'm pretty sure "The View" is satirical, much like "The Onion". To think otherwise is to invite madness.

Wow, did anyone else see the Fonz just jump over that shark?

No seriously I have never seen a single second of that show.

No, i will never underestimate how dumb a gaggle of women can be.

Behar to McCarthy is more or less a lateral move when it comes to crazy.  McCarthy is just more vocal about it.

I'm embarrassed that women will actually act like that.  I hate gossip, hate celebrities, hate all of that reality tv show crap (and most crap on tv), and yet these moronic airheads get to define my whole gender.

it's daytime television in an era where the most popular shows are "reality" type shows following people who sell duck calls, idiot club goers, a disgusting slob of a pageant mother, and wanna be porno stars, so why the hell are  you surprised at all dumbass?

At least Jenny might be funny.

You'd be opening a can of worms with that one. Most reality TV would cease to exist.

True, but these days there are about 300 channels and a ruling like that would put about 250 of them out of business.
I would love to be able to see more documentaries on TV myself. Remember when you used to be able to learn about animals or history on TV?

Know what you mean.  I don't have a lot of female friends for precisely that reason.

I KNOW there are other women out there like me, I just live in/work in an area that really isn't conducive to any of those things but sports.

I would totally watch a impaneled talk show hosted by Amanda Bynes aligned with disgraced child actors...as long as it included Dan Plato set up like Evita Peron/ Helen de Hoyos

In all seriousness, why not listen to NPR?  Not only would you get more intelligent talk and worthwhile information, you'd cut down on your electric bill a bit.

Personally I've never understood the concept of "background noise". Are people really so terrified of silence?

Unless there is a very specific sort of noise required, I prefer no noise whatsoever.

As long as she spends a few minutes each day talking about the handful of times she had public bathroom sex with Jenna Jameson back in the day, I'm okay with this.

LemSkroob: No, i will never underestimate how dumb a gaggle of women can be.

To be fair, I once watched a video of myself and a bunch of male friends at a party. Not one of us made any sense. Of the whole group it was only I who came close to formulating a complete sentence, but still could have been mistaken for someone who recently had a lobotomy. Kind of like most of my posts.

In our defense, we were all drunk and/or high.

When I used to tend bar I had to put up with guys making the dumbest sports arguments even before they got drunk. And then there were the guys who didn't understand the #1 rule of bar etiquette: No politics or religion. They were even dumber than the guys who insisted that Joe Namath was still on the Jets roster in 1985.

Silence is great, no mistake.

That aside, it's been a REALLY rough 18 months or so, and silence has been sometimes hard to handle.  Things are improving, though.

But even before that, I've always thought the amount and kinds of information one can find on NPR is cool.

/even if I couldn't handle silence, no way would I seek refuge in the yammering maws of Sara Gilbert and Sharon Osbourne
