Meh. I'm guessing they just do't know what Hitler stands for in parts of the world. Or maybe they just don't give a shiat. To them, it was a long time ago in a land far far away.

Who cares? "OMG! A hole in the wall restaurant with an offensive name & logo opened up in a country most folks equate with good food & pretty ladyboys. MY OUTRAGE KNOWS NO BOUNDS!"

I always wonder if other countries do the same thing with the incredible range of stupid restaurant themes in the United States? How many "Pho <insert a phrase that sounds funny when it follows the word, 'fark'>" restaurants do we have in the Puget Sound area alone? Can you imagine if a shiatty Vietnam-based news aggregator site posted a silly-ass greenlight article for each one, complete with outrage over taking a treasured cultural tradition and turning it into an implied obscenity, especially given what we did to them during the Vietnam War?

We've crafted a shiatty mountain out of a silly molehill, which only serves to give these assholes a mountain to point at and claim as their own.

Thats funny.

Just like its funny when Americans make cartoons about Mongorrians breaking down a shiatty wall. Think that might be similarly offensive to Chinese? Genghis Kahn was their Hitler. Oh but thats different, right?

I'm going to guess the Hitler in the modern Chinese psyche is the Japanese general in charge of the invasion of China and the subsequent Rape of Nanking during WWII, not Ghengis Khan

ignorance ~ no its relevance , Hitler and the legacy of WW2 isnt relevant to a huge chunk of the worlds population and as a historical event is largely sliding out of relevance to countries that were involved, the world has moved on far and fast in the last 65+ years.

Unfortunate.  Only 73 million died in that little WWII scuffle.

Item 1: The swastika is an ancient symbol of luck for East Asian religions, hence why Hitler adopted it for himself in the first place, what with his paranoid mysticism and all. Item 2: Young people in SEAsia know how much it gets our goat that they are combining a genocidal European maniac with Western-style clothing and fast food.

You guessed wrong, then. They may actually hate the Japanese general. Hitler they don't give a shiat about. He didn't bother them, right? He's cool, a bad guy like Darth Vader. Anyway, don't see any fake outrage over General Tso's Chicken, and that has been around for a long time.

And I'm sure it would never occur to you that Chinese might take offense to calling their Great Wall, a "shiatty wall" ha ha ho ho. It's funny, right?

I'm talking the Japanese general occupying the same spot in the Chinese psyche that Hitler holds in the West.

Case in point, I don't even know the guy's name, and his troops slaughtered millions and millions of Chinese... but you bet your ass he takes up several chapters in their history textbooks. They could slap the guy's portrait on the to go boxes of lo mein from Panda Express and we'd never know.

You notice it'shiatler and not Tojo. The Japanese imperial army didn't make any friends where they occupied whether it was seeing which officer could decapitate 100 tied up Chinese first or figuring out the right way to bind a girl to a chair for maximum rapeability in Nanking, killing 100,000 civilian noncombatants in Manila at the end of their occupation or enslaving the Thais to build the Burma railroad that went over the river Kwai and killing over 100,000 Thais and 20,000 allied POWs during construction.
