And beyond my joke.... I assume this is the latest "scandal" the right-wing is going ape-shiat about?   Makes me recall the comment someone made in a previous thread about how there are all of these "scandals" that are at a DEFCON Level 1 with the far right, and everyone else goes "meh", or isn't even aware of them.

I don't know how big John Kerry's boat is, but I've been on a 56 foot yacht and there is absolutely no reason why Kerry couldn't have worked on a laptop and telephone from a boat that size, or even much smaller.

In fact I'm pretty sure the Secretary of State spends a LOT of time on airplanes and in limos working, so why would a yacht be any different?

I don't really farking care if he was on his boat or not.  However, if he was, it is asinine to deny it at first.  I swear to farking god, this type of thing happens all the time.  And a lot of times it was someone on the politician/bureaucrat's staff that probably didn't know whether he was there in the first place.  But if someone confronts you with "Was Politician X doing _____?" and you don't know, say "I don't know" instead of giving a goddam definitive answer.  It's like Bart Simpson as the I Didn't Do It Boy.  A "Deny first, figure out how to answer later" strategy is sometimes necessary.  But when these goddam people use it for the most ridiculous things imaginable, it's just idiotic.

it is a side effect of the 24/7 witch hunt. 99% of the time it makes whatever-gate just go away before it is news. 1% i guess you have to expain why whatever gate is stupid and admit you bs'd the people trying to acuse you of stupid shiat.

And then somehow it makes it into Fox News through Beck, Rush, Savage, or who else have you that there's a possibility that he was off with Obama doing cocaine off the ass of one of those ACORN provided Latin American prostitutes. And then my Facebook will be littered with my ignorant family's rantings.

I hope for a day when we get a Democratic president and his staff who, in answer to ridiculous gotcha-type, poutrageous, bullshiat like this, simply states, "Go fark yourself."

Was Kerry on his boat?  Go fark yourself.  If you care that Kerry was or was not on the boat, go fark yourself.

On a related note, I love to see a Fark politics page with article after article with no more than a hundred comments.  It means the poutrage mongers and the trolls that pretend to support them are getting zero traction and reaction.

Is the media completely in the tank for the GOP now? What is the motivation? It's like the media just attacks the president and his administration 24/7 with complete nonsense. What happened that made them so bias toward the GOP?

You realize the frustration at that wasn't so much "ZOMG BUSH ARE GOLFING", it was the nearly FLIPPANT way he switched conversation topics?

Similarly, the whole kerfuffle over his "Lol no WMD under the couch!" was less "It's wrong to crack jokes about not finding WMD", and more that it was pretty farked up for HIM to crack those jokes, given that it was the initial reason for the war, right?

You "hoped for"?  Please.  The only thing you "hoped for" when Obama was elected was even the thinnest excuse to justify your constant complaining.  And when you people couldn't find one, you just started making shiat up.  See: Benghazi, IRS, NSA, etc.

And when the administration DOES take actions to inform the public, IE the declassification of the NSA papers or the debriefing about the bin Ladin raid, you people just accuse them of trying to control the message for political gain.  Because you don't want "transparency", you just want to be able to complain without taking responsibility for yourselves.

They aren't, at least as far as the major networks go.  They average somewhere between 38% and 43% positive news about whomever is president at any given time.  It's been that way since Reagan.  Actually, he might have had a bit of a lower dip from the average at first.

I'm not including cable news in that, obviously.

You thought it was clever because you thought there was some sort of scandal implied. Also, making fun of you for thinking it's a scandal isn't "butthurt."
