"The motivation behind the Staples Center banner, according to a team source, was to take advantage of its exposure during last week's BET Awards, which were held at the Nokia Theatre, across the street from Staples Center."

I like how the video gives 1 checkmark for Kobe, Pau, and Steve Nash as teammates, but gives three checkmarks for Harden, Parsons, and someone else for Houston. Wtf?

Kobe:...............you're kung-fu is the best....
Howard: Man, that was weak. Screw this I'm going to Houston. Harden sent me some Omaha Steaks.
Kupcheck: Kobe, season ticket sales are down 27%.
Kobe: YOU'RE KUNG-FU IS THE BEST, OK! There, I said it, OK?
Howard: I don't know....
Kobe: Dwight I am going to dunk so hard on you, your kids will shrink 2 inches.

Does he even make any of these teams legit title contenders?

San Antonio is a year older but they were only a rebound or free throw from a title. OKC gets Westbrook back and is a real contender. Memphis isn't going anywhere either.

And that leaves out teams like Denver and the Clippers. So does Howard make Houston Dallas or Golden State suddenly better than all of those teams? Doesn't seem like it, which makes all this pretty pointless theater.

I'd say it would put houston on par with the clips, just behind okc. So I'd say it gives them a punchers chance in the playoffs.

Still behind San Antonio and Memphis I think. Which makes them 4th best in the West.

Definitely a puncher's chance, but I just think the whole Howard sweepstakes is being overblown, considering it earns the winner 4th best in the West and probably about 8th best in the league.

My team, the Celtics, aren't going anywhere, but I would be upset if they signed Howard for five years (yes, I know they would need to sign-and-trade to do it), even if it was for less than the max rate. Is there any team whose fans really want Howard? I don't think you can win a title with him as your best, or even second-best player.

So only the best teams have a shot at a title now? Hell, without Stern running the ship anymore they might actually let the games be decided by the players for once.

If Howard doesn't sign with Houston, then nothing in this world makes sense anymore. Being paired with Harden and a sh*tload of perimeter shooters should be his wet dream.

Plus, the Rockets have a pretty aggressive GM and a lot of flexibility; if they sign Howard tomorrow I'd expect a couple trades by them to happen almost immediately.

I think Adam Silver should run things very upfront and make it sound like everything is up in the air.....then let Joey Crawford officiate EVERY NBA Finals Game.

I am not really an NBA fan, however, I hear so many stories about this attention whore being an attention whore and sucking at basketball. The guy seems like a cancer and for two years has made himself the focus of a team rather than the team. Why do so many people want him?

It is going to be beautiful when the Lakers and Celtics are not in the playoffs. Now if Lebron could just retire...

He's led the NBA in rebounds per game five of the last six seasons, including the last two.

I don't know how the narrative has turned into "Dwight is bad at basketball." That's silly. "Dwight's somewhat limited skillset means he really functions best on teams where he fits into the approach" makes sense. "Dwight is bad at basketball" does not.

Houston is a good fit; so is Golden State. They are used to a center bricking free throws.

I'm with you. He's clearly become the biggest name NBA player not to have a ring, and he's also easily the one who seems to care the least about that.

I saw that the Rockets are interested in Josh Howard too. That would be a pretty good squad.

Wait.

Chris Paul's never been anywhere NEAR a ring. He's been on bad teams, but superstars sometimes take bad teams deep. He got knocked out in the first round this year.

Dwight's at least been to the finals. And most people would probably say CP3's a bigger name, or at least a better player, since he's somehow not tarnished by "failure" the way Dwight is, despite failing constantly.

I think messing up Yie Ar Kung-fu when it's written right on the start screen is a bit worse than your vs you're.
