So they can get a headache?

We've gone over this enough that it's not really funny any more. Hemp and pot are not the same thing.

Pot is to hemp as milk is to semen.

I wouldn't drink it.

/best analogy ever

Nope, but the DEA and USGov overlook a crucial fact: Hemp and Marijuana are related species. Hemp has many beneficial qualities, including the fact that time and time again when it's planted, it cross-breeds with Marijuana plants, producing a hybrid with lower THC levels. A few generations of cross-pollination and weed will be so weak as to be of little narcotic effect.

So what, they're going to break into marijuana grow ops and plant hemp to make it shiatty weed?  That sounds like a pretty convoluted plan.

Mount Vernon, man? He grew it all over the country, man. He had people growin' it all over the country, you know. The whole country back then was gettin' high. Lemme tell you, man, 'cause he knew he was onto somethin', man. He knew that it would be a good cash crop for the southern states, man, so he grew fields of it, man. But you know what? Behind every good man there is a woman, and that woman was

CSB:
My parents live in Nelson BC. Voted most Marijuana friendly town in North America by NORML Magazine. At one point there was a guy growing hemp. He got approached by farmers of the other variety asking politely to cease with his growing as they were cross-polinating and affecting their crops.
Don't know about the pot-friendly part but definitely drum-circle and dread-lock friendly.

Can someone point out to me the line in the article where it says this is being flown over the CO state capital?  Because from what I read, it sounded like it was going to be flown over the US capital dome.

Surely I'm reading that wrong, but can't find the line to clarify.

In my own defense, I'm vaping a bowl right now.

Yeah, unless I'm crazy, that article clearly states that this flag is going to be flown over Congress.

On July 4th.

That's a pretty big f-ing deal.  That symbolically signifies the death of the age of Anslinger and Hearst.

Actually, no. But in a few countries around the world, marginal soil fields are planted with hemp because

1. It's a great source for making ethanol
2. It's far less destructive on the soil than corn is (it rejuvenates the soil and is great for building up marginal soil fields)
3. It naturally cross-pollenates with marijuana crops for many many miles around, and basically wrecks the narcotic effects*.

Everyone but the growers of said Marijuana and users of same are pleased with the outcome. After all, who wants to smoke weed when it doesn't do shiat to you?

Nope. Beneficial unless you're into smoking weed.
