Good thing it wasn't NYC. Some shiathead would instead take a picture while the train smashes you and sell it.

Homicide: Life on the Streets had a really good episode about this back in the day.  Link goes to the first part on youtube.

while I agree that the bystanders are heroes, it's also a sad day in humanity when saving someone else from certain death is heroic and not just "basic human decency"

(nothing against subby)

A story about people behaving decently instead of like assholes? That can't be right ...

Well, they did accuse him of being a drunk if that helps even things up for you.

The visiting teacher, Rob Roberts, could have lifted him up under his arms, but instead gave "his backside an extra push". AH! The perfect crime.

I never heard anything else about this. That was despicable.

My thoughts exactly. Watched that video and said, that mother farker didn't fall, he was pushed. Video shows it pretty clearly.

And instead of having your picture taken by some callous motherfarker just before your last moments in this life, some decent human beings come along and pull your sorry ass to safety?

Fake.

It does. Whew.

Although, when people fall off a subway platform, I usually assume drunkenness, too. Or some kind of substance abuse. Doesn't mean they should be left to get crushed by an oncoming train, though.

Sure, it was pills that smell like alcohol.  That's what made me wobbly last night.  It had nothing at all to do with the martinis...

He wasn't pushed, you tards.

He was following people towards the line, and then the person two in front of him stepped over too far, and the person between grabbed that person and pulled them back. That left no barrier to his advancement, and he fell.

Check the video again, and watch him get the head and shoulders fake from the person at the line right before he falls in.

I have two Smart votes, and I don't see that you have any. So it's pretty clear he was pushed. The voters have decided.
