Kiradikash: God Is My Co-Pirate: Heh, I remember going on a waterslide that was so high and steep it was notorious for taking off bikini tops. There were always a bunch of guys hanging around the pool at the bottom.

/the ability to put a bikini top on while trying to stay underwater is an underrated one

I have had that happen to me at a local water park. Everyone called the big slide the "wedgie slide". I did not know this, as it was my first trip to the park. So, not only was I trying to pull the bikini bottoms out of my butt crack, I also had to try to get my bikini top back on. Not fun at all. Lol.

This is why I have different swimsuits for sunbathing and waterskiing. Different bathing suits for a casual pool party and swimming in the ocean.

They should have a clear statement that swimsuits that don't cover up X and Y, offensive/hateful clothing or tattoos will be asked to change or leave. If asked to leave, customers should be refunded.

Also if you think THIS lady is so fat and terrible, you have never been to Missouri. In any case, frankly I know I sound really fat right here, but I have a live and let live attitude and it doesn't hurt me to see fat people period. They shouldn't be held to a higher standard than others.

If you feel comfortable in a bikini ladies- then wear one. People hating on you just want to make everyone feel shiatty about their bodies. There are women who are size 0 and don't have the confidence to wear a swimsuit in public- people like the assholes on Fark (welcome to Fark, I know) have brought all women down to a point where they question if they are good enough to do something that AFFECTS NOONE ELSE.

/I know, I sound fat, welcome to Fark, but I don't care that you guys are jerks, I just want people to know you are jerks (which is fine, I love it) and your opinion doesn't matter.

TBF, I've seen 14, 15-year-olds wearing small bikinis. Most of them can't fill out the top like she can, but still.

As much as I hate to say it, if you're going to allow "bathing suits" of whatever size, you've got to let the fatties wear them too - either that or make it very clear that it's a subjective rule and you understand that, before buying your ticket, park personnel can ask you to cover up (or leave, if you refuse).

I suggest she looks into a bikini top with an underwire, just to give her a bit of support. And she could do with going up a size in the bottoms. I'm glad she feels sexy enough to pull off a bikini but it's ill-fitting. A proper fit would enhance her look instead of take away from it.

This kind of garbage is why shiatloads of women have body image issues.

The article said they asked her to put on shorts, so that tells me the problem was with her bikini bottom not her top/boobs. The video and picture in the article deliberately don't show that part of her so my guess would be her ass wasn't adequately covered by it. A lot of water parks have regulations on how small the bathing suits can be, things like no thongs and the entire ass cheek must be covered etc.

Feint: This is going to sound really mean, but a shiatload of women, and men, should have body image issues. We should not be like "Oh it's okay that you are a disgusting whale of a person with a huge increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other health problems. It only matters that you feel good inside." I'm sorry, but if you are legitimately fat, you should expect people to be averse to looking at you.

It's not that I don't understand. I'm 6' tall and at one point I weighed 265lbs, and it wasn't muscle. I was able to get down to around 165lbs, but then I met a girl and as things like that sometimes go, I gained a lot back. Now I'm 225lbs. I feel disgusted with myself, and I am going to lose weight again.

You're close, but I will argue that you're missing the mark. Is it "Precious Snowflake I-Won't-Define-Your-Reality OK" to be morbidly obese? No, of course not. It is unhealthy for the individual, however, and puts that person's family at risk of burdensome and expensive care, and possibly the community if the person ends up on public assistance due to weight-related illness. What is wrong is the moral judgement people place on the overweight and obese.

The Fat People should not be made to feel "bad". Most Fat People already have plenty of self-loathing and shame and it is clearly not helping them to un-fat themselves. The individual's weight is not good or bad, but healthy or unhealthy. Obesity is not the result of a moral failing, but of unhealthy choices often combined with the pure accident of the DNA lottery.

Agreed. I will refrain from my "the typical American diet is terrible and agribusiness conspires with the government to keep it that way" rant.

OTOH, other people do not exist entertain or arouse you. Ugly people exist. Deal with it. People wear skimpy outfits. Deal with it. They have no obligation to care whether you are offended or not. And you have no right to complain if you find them offensive.

Go be a prude somewhere else.

It doesn't matter if you farkers enjoy looking at her body or not, or whether or not she is skinny or fat or just right, or anywhere in between.  It is silly to say it was because of her tattoos or because her boobs were too big (neither she or the park officials said it was because of the bathing suit top).

The problem is, her bathing suit was too small to cover her butt and she was asked to comply with the rules of the park.  Instead of putting on some shorts, she had them call the police and then called the media in and claims she was singled out.

It is true, she was singled out, for non-compliance with the park's rules about covering your butt with some kind of material while in their park.  If a large man had a speedo on that didn't cover his whole butt, a lot of you same farkers would be screeching and wailing that he should have been culled from the herd for being so gross.  Welcome me to Fark, where the double-standard is alive and thriving.

There's a bit of a difference between seeing some porn model's tits and seeing the tits of some normal person you can actually interact with on a regular person level. There's something a bit more exciting about seeing the latter, more titillating if you will.

Does it really affect no one? People don't exist in a vacuum. When you go to a public place, from the perspective of other people, you become a part of the environment of that place. People react to their environment, and although we have social mores and self-control to regulate how people express and/or respond to those reactions, the reactions themselves still occur, and to a very large extent they cannot be helped: they come from hard-coded instincts and deeply ingrained conventions that cannot simply be waved away.

We can argue about what reactions it's OK to demand people moderate. We can discuss when it is and is not all right to dismiss a reaction as unworthy of consideration, calling them trivial or wrongheaded or whatever. But when we say that things like this "affect no one," we are sticking our heads in the sand. We do affect people with these kinds of decisions. And maybe -just maybe- we should be taking those effects into greater account.

I sincerely doubt the staff there were picking on anyone for being heavier or having big boobs. It states she got in trouble for wearing a bottom that was too small so I guess she had parts hanging out. Of course, her reaction is "Oh my god you're just jealous I'm calling the news crew!"

Doesn't matter what you look like you will get kicked out of a public pool for exposing yourself.

I'd just like to say that my office is across the street from a water park. The window I'm facing is perhaps 50 feet from what would be people in bathing suits (ugly Northwest Indiana Wal-mart sorts of people, but still technically people), if it were warmer than 60 degrees right now.

Also I'm given to understand that the way, way nastier thing than skimpy outfits is people who don't shower before entering the water. Nothing like seeing a wave pool with a layer of weird oil on it.
