Perhaps what we need to discourage this sort of behavior, rather than the possibility of jail time, is to require that those who invent conditions to scam money from victim funds must, when caught, be given the opportunity to actually possess the condition they were claiming.

That was one convoluted sentence.  I think I pulled something trying to understand it.

I think he means we need to chop his arms off and laugh at him.

I can imagine his huge grin when the trooper handed him a 2.5 million check.  "Oh yeah! I made it!  I'm rich!  I'm ... under arrest?  The grin melts away leaving befuddlement.

I just have a hard time understanding why anyone so attractive and successful would even need to attempt such a thing.

I like it. "Here's your check. If you cash it, Rocco, Moose, Vinnie, and Mr. Husqvarna are going to make an honest man out of you. Your call."

Only problem with that is that sooo many people would still take the money.

So they'd hunt down some lady to be his aunt and hurt her?  That's probably not a deterrent to this guy.

It also probably wouldn't do much to discourage the ones who make fake claims about their kids -  a lot of those do hurt the kids (directly or with treatments) already.

All right, I'm gonna give you a choice. You can either have the money and the hammer or you can walk out of here. You can't have both. What do you want?

EVERY time there's a flood or any natural disaster around here, there's always a long line at the benefits door of fakers and scammers who just want in on the "free money."

I can't even say enough bad things about people who do this.

You should watch these types when a city bus is involved in a fender bender, by count, depending on location, the bus may seem to have been filled to 4 times it's capacity.
