(Washington Post)   Despite the fact that he spent 8 years running for office, Mitt Romney was really on the fence in 2011 about whether he wanted to be president. And he only did it because you wanted him to, and look at what happened, you ungrateful bastard   (washingtonpost.com ) divider line

Amazing.

He didn't even really want the job and still managed to demonstrate massive amounts of entitlement about how he deserved the job.

Short work week.  I hate it when holidays land in the middle.

I'm still trying to grok how all those unskewed polls showed Romney to be the clear winner, yet he lost.

Reality has a well-known liberal bias.

Since this is staying green, does that mean he was actually running for 16 years?  Man, what a drip.

I said that in yesterday's green.  It really is reminiscent of the old schoolyard, "I could beat you up but I don't want to."

Fits Mitt's personality like a finely-tailored suit.

Came here to say this. 6 stories on the Politics tab, and two are not only repeats, but they're farking repeats from yesterday. Have we been lied to about this whole moderator thing, and submissions are only greenlit based on which keys Drew's cat steps on when he crosses across the desk?

Fark, now with 33% repeats...

repeat, I didn't care yesterday either.

I do wonder though how this makes Newt and his supporters feel.
/ or Perry or whoever else was a contender in the primary.

Some guy with Michelle Bachmann's eyes gave Romney a book to read, Atlas Shrugged, and he can't put it down. He's trying to figure out how to make the trains run on time to deliver the Spice to the House of Atreides.

For Romney, fiction is like the real world only more so.

I had a health-care plan in Massachusetts that had been copied in some respects by the president, that I would be tainted by that feature.

I still don't understand why after he got the nomination he didn't tell the GOP party bosses to f*ck off on using Obamacare as an attack issue. What would they do, not support the nominee? He should have come out and owned it, saying the president stole his idea. This also would have wooed middle-class voters into thinking Romney wasn't a heartless rich guy.

I never thought I'd see the self-destruction of the GOP in my lifetime.

You would think after 8 years of running, and 4 years of Obama, he would have run a better campaign. I wonder how that would translate to running the country?

Somebody said it best the other day, something along the lines of "This asshole couldn't even win an election in his own house."

Come now. You honestly expect a diehard libertarian to sacrifice a potential source of money so that the minority of reasonable people can have civilized intellectual debate devoid of redundancy? [youmustbenewhere.bmp]

This is two elections in a row where the guy who ran the "most moderately sane" campaign in the Republican primaries won...and then went Fox News crazy under the careful guiding wings of top Republican strategists and lost the election.

Considering his history, he would get together with other presidents, kick a bunch of people out, then sell the country off to China at the highest bid.

The guy has been handed every single thing for his entire life. People throw money at him simply because he already has money. He treated the race for presidency the same way he has treated everything else his entire life. "I don't have to do anything and I will simply succeed because I'm Mitt Romney, biatch."

It's awesome seeing what happens when these entitled farks finally wake up to see the real world. The farker didn't even have a concession speech written, he was so sure the country was going to just hand him the Presidency on a silver platter like he's been handed everything else in his life. I've never taken so much pleasure in watching someone lose before. Not even Palin. Kind of felt sorry for McCain a little, but I enjoyed a solid month of Schadenfreude after the '12 election.

My unapologetic, conservative, racist grandmother (2008):  "I can't vote for McCain after he made that fraud his running mate.  Appeal to women?   Which women?  They need the taste slapped out of their mouths."

My unapologetic, conservative, racist grandmother (2012):  "You had more than four farking years and this is the best you could come up with?"

Voted Obama both times.  Still calls him a n*BONG.
