LasersHurt: So they continue to say "THE US DIVERTED THE PLANE" even though there is, as of yet, no evidence of that?
rocky_howard: LasersHurt: So they continue to say "THE US DIVERTED THE PLANE" even though there is, as of yet, no evidence of that?Don't be glib... Are you 4 years old? The plane was stopped because of Snowden. Who's the one interested in Snowden? United States.
elffster: Has anyone mentioned Hitler yet?
SpdrJay: Glass. Parking. Lot.
sheumack: In the early 2000s, the USA provided the conservative Bolivian government with a lot of money on the proviso that they went into the coca field and start chopping down and burning the plants. The peasant farmers saw their livelyhood going up in smoke, and started blockading the roads connecting various cities - Cochabamba to Santa Cruz in particular. Evo Morales was one of the senior leaders, and the profile that he obtained through the protests led to his election as President, where he's stayed ever since.
IdBeCrazyIf: ....but that's just crazy talk
vpb: Evil big brother gubmint. You don't need evidence, you just know it's true.

LasersHurt: International law exists. Multiple Nations decided they didn't want him in their airspace, and diverted him. While it's because of Snowden, that's a far cry from "The US diverted the plane."
"We have altered your flight plan. Pray we do not alter it further."(Special thanks to GIS and whatever right-wing derp-site hosts this laughly bad photoshop)
rocky_howard: LasersHurt: International law exists. Multiple Nations decided they didn't want him in their airspace, and diverted him. While it's because of Snowden, that's a far cry from "The US diverted the plane."Why do you think that happened? The point was to corner the plane by not allowing space for it to flight without doing a major aerial change of route. The US can't just forbid the plane from flying over other countries, they need the officials of those countries to emit the order, but it's not as if they weren't behind it. If I hire you to do murder someone, I'm also guilty of the crime regardless of me not shooting the guy or even being there when you kill him.
LasersHurt: So you still have no proof of the Bolivian's claim?
rocky_howard: LasersHurt: So you still have no proof of the Bolivian's claim? So you're still being a wanton apologist?
swahnhennessy: I can't think of the last time something like this happened to a sitting head of state. A lesser dignitary, perhaps, but not to the president of a nation. And for what? The suspicion that a leaker might be aboard the plane headed for asylum? That's crazy.
LasersHurt: What am I apologizing for? I'm asking if they have proof of the claims they're making. Bolivia might blame the US if there's a bad storm, you know?
kbronsito: if Snowden had been on the plane, then fark Bolivia... but since he wasn't, obviously the European countries that withdrew their permission to use their airspace and the American officials that asked for it are basically a-holes who acted on what must have been bad information. Had he been the president of some rich-non-brown country, i doubt they would have dared to act that way on whatever shiatty information they had (it couldn't have been that good, since it turned out to be crap). If only Bolivia could get some other third world countries outraged at this and get them to agree to randomly revoke permission to use their air spaces for official flights from the countries involved just to fark with them whenever possible.

aardwolf: Do you Americans on FARK actually read your posts? To the whole english speaking world FARK seems entirely composed of NSA sock puppets, fascists, nationalistic racist, religious nut cases and warmongering hate filled retrogrades... as a reader for 10 years from London UK, FARK used to have an attractive freedom loving, progressive commentariat. However, the events of the last few months have shown FARK and by extension the rest of the US population as deeply ignorant of the world, the nature of freedom and having completely sleepwalked into fascism.... My country the U.K. is obviously just as bad, however, at least our Guardian newspaper reveals, that whilst our politicians are lapdog slaves to the US, at least some of our people still believe in freedom...FARK's readership appears to have deteriorated very rapidly...However, I at least hold some hope for the US as at least it was an American journalist Glenn and an American spy Edward that revealed the totalitarian world we live in...even if they needed a British newspaper to tell the world...FARK I am disappointed...
LasersHurt: When in doubt, cock jokes. Because calling someone Gay is just like having a real argument.
rocky_howard: LasersHurt: When in doubt, cock jokes. Because calling someone Gay is just like having a real argument.Son, drop the indignant act.1.- You were the one who dropped the discourse 'cause you couldn't provide an argument.2.- It has nothing to do with being gay. Women also suck cock. The point of the metaphor is domination and subjugation.3.- fark yourself.
LasersHurt: To think you've gone so far off the rails because I dared ask for proof of a simple claim rather than assume facts and get indignant.
