It's like bad CGI exploded into the real world.

Ann Coulter?

/hot - the pic not the subject matter

2013-07-02 05:41:57 PM
The Keanu statue was actually pretty close to reality.

This has gotta be like "Graceland Too", you don't go there for the exhibits but the freak factor. If you're paying more than $5 for this museum you're a sucker.

I recognized Connery and Daniel Craig. They were actually halfway decent. Looks like the Morgan Freeman in the main room isn't so bad, either.

The rest of the shiat was scary. God, the Charlie's Angels shiat is gonna give me nightmares. Right alongside the nightmares that the one posted above will give me. All I could think was 'Ann Coulter', too, but who knows? I have no goddamned idea who the other dude is even supposed to be.

They all looked bad.  Wax museums are bad as a rule.  Everyone I have been to has sucked in this manner. Madame Tussauds in London was best of the lot and it was very iffy.

Save your money.  If someone suggests a Wax Museum, just say no.

if only conan had a little gold spray paint around his mouth he'd be perfection.

If they wouldn't have told me that was Tom Hanks I never would have guessed it. Same with some of the others. Like those two people above.

Agreed, this museum's figures are pretty awful.

That being said, I think I was more offended by the author's whiny "you suck!" attitude toward the museum. The author (Jamie Lee Curtis Taete--is that a real name?) missed an opportunity to promote the place as being so bad and kitschy you just have to see it.

It does, yeah, if she was mid-blink or on Oxy

For it to be Coulter they need a bit more wax, not sure how much, kind of about the size of a large Adam's Apple maybe.

...and come on!  Gwyneth is beautiful.  That wax statue is just hideous.

Tom Cruise from Mission: Impossible.

That museum is on Hollywood Blvd.  There is almost nothing of any redeeming feature on that street.  It is tourist hell on par with Fisherman's Wharf and the US side of Niagara Falls.

I don't understand the appeal of such places.

I've been to Madame Tussauds' in Times Square, and it's a fun time. Until I saw these horrible waxworks in the article, I took it for granted how good the statues looked in Madame Tussauds. Every statue looked exactly like the person they represented. And I'm pretty sure you were able to take pictures with every wax figure. It was crowded but worth the wait.

Daniel Craig & Morgan Freeman were the only ones I found closely accurate.  A few actually looked melted, like poor ol`  Michael Caine's figure..

Sounds like a fun time. The Barack looks pretty darn good, but Michelle's face seems a little off. I can't quite place it, but something doesn't match. Taylor Swift however, looks like a wax statue in every picture I've seen, and this captures her perfectly.

Damn, I needed a good laugh today and this hit the spot...  I imagine this is what a transvestite celebrity look-alike party would look like.  While not an uncanny resemblance, the Drew Barrymore cheek bones instantly made me think of Eric Stoltz character in "Mask"...

I thought this one was the best of the lot.  It actually looks like a real human being.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Michael Caine.  It's more like Michael Caine's cousin.

/No I am not waiting in line to take a picture with a waxwork of Michale Caine's cousin.

the funny thing is, all the figures are easily identifiable.  sorry, but they get a win for that.

I thought maybe it was the guy who made the wax figures.
Was the AC on the frits? Looks like some are melting.

I can't believe they butchered Jennifer Garner's statue so much:

Seriously? Seriously? The narrow/small head on the huge shoulders reminds me more of a Men in Black character...

I guess this is the worst was museum ever if you've never visited other wax museums. We decided to kill some time while visiting San Francisco and went into the wax museum on Fisherman's Warf. It was surreal. Here are just a couple of the photos I took.

This is what greets you when you pay your admission. I think it sets the tone nicely.

I think we need to call in the elderly granny to restore these to their natural beauty.
