Dumbass Morsi is behaving as a dictator, therefore he has to go.

Morsi will be fine.  The army is run by a real Sissi.

2013-07-02 02:23:01 PM
Probably wants to save face and figures being perceived as being forced out by the military is better than stepping down.

In any case bet a bunch of derka derkas won't care and blow themselves up anyway.

On technicality one could argue that Lincoln acted like a dictator when the Union split.....sooooooooo let's not go all throwing stones in glass houses here

So he's chosen the 'learn the hard way' option.

Either the military or Morsi is seriously overestimating their hand.

The Egyptian leader has repeatedly said he will not quit, saying that street action must not be allowed to remove an elected president or else the same could happen to future presidents

Wait, how did he come to power again?

Israel must be feeling pretty good about having two of its neighbors embroiled (or almost embroiled) in civil war.

As long as we don't get involved, I'm fine. Worst case scenario, we just puts boots on the ground and then walk out when it's over. No more playing democracy for them. They will figure it out eventually.

Well, the military's proven that they will not fire on the Egyptian people (Mubarak tried that; they told him to fark off). The Brotherhood just killed 8 people. They traded one dictator for a democratically elected one. Pretty sure the people are reasonably justified in their conclusion that the military juuuussst miiiigghhht remove Morsel before it slaughters them.

That's just a temporary intermission. All sides will return to blaming Israel for their woes shortly. Please stay on the line to retain your calling priority.

Yep. And what happened after that?

Difficulty: history written by victors.

I'm just saying, we like to pretend we're a beacon of democracy for the world when we really did have over a hundred years of bumpy ass road.

That's the thing with Morsi, he overplayed his hand WAY too early on.  Instead of doing the long con and waiting a few years, maybe making some improvements or stabilizing the country a little bit to pacify the freshly-rebelled people, and THEN manufacturing a boogeyman for them to hate, resulting in the use of the old Mubarak play of "emergency powers", this idiot blew his load 6 months in, declaring himself independent of the courts and writing his own heavily-Islam weighted Constitution or something similar before the population had a chance to really settle down and get back to the daily grind.
