How did China get this law before Israel?

They should bring them a Coke too.

Meh....

I don't know what China's tax system is like - but in Western-style countries, the elderly who need it are supported by tax payers.  Going to work is a better way to provide for them than visiting.

They murdered 7 offspring waiting for your arrival. You show some god damn respect.

Yeah mom called and said I dont visit enough. I should since her and dad live at the beach.

So who is the first farker who is going to legitimately say this is a good law and they support it. Not just trolls, but legitimately.

I think the law is well-intentioned but it's kind of like forcing someone to love you...somehow genuine force and genuine love seem to be incompossible.

Besides, one of the interesting points it glosses over is what about the elderly who have no children? I guess they are supposed to just wither and die.

Can you "visit"; really not say anything, eat their food, watch pay per view movies, drink their liquor, swipe the money from the change jar and call it good?

And with that, Communist China now has more laws directly related to the Ten Commandments than the Christian States of America.

I expect there to be a sudden upswing in mysterious sudden deaths of the elderly.

Only if they amend the law to require paid vacation for offspring visiting their parents as required by law otherwise it is an immensive burden to everyone.

Haha China can't wait for that one to be overturned.  O wait it's China, they won't care to write the law that far.

I have no kids so I would like a law that would force some random whipper-snapper to come visit me and make sure I am "spiritually health". If that person is a 20 yo redhead with daddy issues, so much the better.

Jews don't need a law.  They've perfected the art of "guilt."

2013-07-02 04:10:59 PM
They'll just hire North Koreans to do it for them.

Outsourcing at its finest.

I think that law has some merit.

You can't force people to care about someone take the case of my Mom. I know where she is but I don't dare visit her because she's unstable an will make a scene and threaten to ruin your life if you don't give her 20 dollars for cigarettes and another 50 bucks for booze.

Son? Is that you?

/You can keep the money from the change jar, but I really do need my liquor back.

And if your parents were abusive assholes who kicked you out while you were still in high school?

FTFA:  The legislation also allows for the elderly to sue their children but does not specify the process or what penalties they might face.

Oh, my dad (sadistic & controlling bastard) would've totally sued me if that was the law here in the US.

It would appear not even a troll is going to try and claim this is a good idea.
