As far as creating a list of IP knock-offs goes, it is probably best to not include properties that are, for the most part, IP ripoffs/rehashments.

aren't most of these from the asylum - a studio that exists purely for the purpose of making low-budget knockoffs?

This, I was about to say, isn't there basically one company that just churns these out?

Yeah, I think they're known for churning out low-budget knockoffs.

Oh god I watched Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies and really regretted it. I mean I like most low budget badly done zombie movies, but that one was beyond horrible.

Sunday School Musical could be an awesome movie if it were R rated, featured songs from Megadeth and KISS and the writers were all recruited from Literotica.com.

Also, Gigli would have been better if it had different actors, a different script, and was made by a different studio and produced by a different team and was about something other than whatever Gigli was about.

I'd rather have my copyright-infringing versions be in porn form, thank you very much.

You know, a lot of these would be decent porn film parodies.  Just consider a word change in some cases Sunday School Musical, Metal Man, Atlantic Rim, Alien vs Hunter could easily become things Sunday School XXX Musical, Metal Man Fetish, Atlantic Rimjob, Femalien vs Hunter.

OMGOMGOMG  I need to see The DaVinci Treasure.  Sunday School Musical also piqued my curiousity

A favorite movie of Don Imus.

Paranormal Entity is actually really good.  I liked it better than Paranormal Activity, where it was an hour and a half of watching people sleep and be douchebags with ten minutes of "scary" stuff.

Plus Paranormal Entity has Erin Marie Hogan:

I think SyFy shows all these knock off movies.  That channel is like the Dollar Store of cable channels.  Also Atlantic Rim looks more like a knock off of Evangelion.

OK, tyhere are some issues here...

Some version or other of  Thor has been made a million times and predates such concepts as Marvel Comics.
The Frog Prince? Yeah, not a "ripoff" either, although the cover art might be.

OTOH, that Iron Man ripoff is amazingly blatant. Looks like a kid in a combination of 2-3 Iron Man Halloween costumes.

Seriously. The cop from Die Hard was Carl "The Mailman" Huxtable of Family Matters. I guess all Carls look alike to that guy.

Dude.  Stop.  Just let it go. It's not funny.

The group is called Asylum, I think.  They do C- grade version of big movies.  I guess they make money.

Mugato: Are any of the knock offs really worse than the originals?

Recently I've watched 'Age of the Hobbits' and 'Alpha Earth.' Both were very enjoyable. I was impressed with their watchabilty. The Hansel and Gretle knock-off wasn't too bad either.

Da Vinci Treasure, however. Ugh. The best part is when Lance Henrickson describes a woman as (paraphrasing from memory) "tight in the waist like a wasp and deep in the ass like a horse." That movie is terrible.

I watched Battle of Los Angeles last weekend. It was bad, then became so bad it was good, then became so horrible it was bad again.

If you are an alien invasion group and your shiat can be defeated by Nia Peeples in a cat suit with a katana, your civilization and your technology eats bowls of it.

You want to waste your time with a non-knock off movie?  Try Skyline.  Holy shiat that was like a made for SyFy movie.
