brap: I'm always a little disappointed when freak accidents don't actually involve Siamese Twins. What if the wood chipper shield had flown of and separated them and they lived, and went on to double their efficiency by each operating their own wood chippers. Now that would be the feel-good freak accident of the summer.
HotWingConspiracy: /don't work on moving machines, those signs with stick men dying violently mean something
Grimble Crumble: Y'know, if I'm going to clean out the wood chipper for whatever reason, I'm not only going to wait until it stops making noise, I'm going to pull the lead off of the spark plug before I put my hand anywhere near the bitey part. That thing's not only going to not be running, there will be no chance of it starting on it's own accord.I've grown fond of all my body parts over the years.
akula: bunner: akula: bunner: Yeah, some guy was cleaning a piece of machinery and something that shouldn't have flown off, did and killed him. What a failure. The way I read it, he was taking a cover off to clean it. He had shut the machine off but some internal parts were still moving. Those not-yet-at-rest internal parts grabbed the cover and flung it into his chest.Had he waited a bit for the thing to shut ALL the way down he'd have been fine.Yeah, but I guess accidental death schadenfreude just doesn't groove me as our finest achievement. Meh.Not all of us get to walk on the moon.
