these are pretty cool but not all that functional since it would be hard to lay the skewer on the side with the tail, although I guess for the price it's more of a conversation piece

$45 for a set of 2?!  Maybe I'm just a cheap ass, but if I cook for my family and have the neighbors over...a pretty basic grilling situation, that's 8 people.  8 skewers costs $180.  That's not "pretty reasonable."  The flexible stainless steel cable kind is about $2 each, or a nice solid stainless steel set costs about $5 each.

I know these are artistic, but $22.50 each for a skewer is pretty steep.

I would also think there is too much mass in the handle so it wouldn't cool down quick enough. Unless you enjoy burning your guests' hands for a laugh.

Still looks neat and unique idea.
