KhamanV: I should be surprised that this whole mess is turning into a Lifetime special about fame-farking attention suckers, but I'm not.
WTF Indeed: He is already his biatch. Assange now has free range to do as many illegal things as he wants and be protected by a Ecuador. At some point he'll do cause enough pain to their dictatorship that Assange will get kicked out and end up hanging in an American prison like he should be.
AeAe: Assange needs to shut the fark up. What does he need to be involved in any of this, anyway?

hardinparamedic: Well, to be fair, I have far more respect for Snowden than I do Assange.
Magorn: Look Wikileaks may to some extent be a necessary and even good thing, but that doesn't change the fact that when you look up "self-aggrandizing Douche" in the dictionary, all you get is a picture of Assange
PonceAlyosha: hardinparamedic: Well, to be fair, I have far more respect for Snowden than I do Assange.Yeah, when becoming a major public personage, it helps your case to not to look like you're the lead of a New Wave band.
netweavr: I still don't see what the hate surrounding Assange is about.
Gosling: Fun fact: Russia still has him, and Russia's attitude towards western extradition attempts is "hahahahahahahaha".That's where he's going to stay.
digistil: Also, Ecuador today said they're considering kicking Assange out on the street as a result of his latest stunt.
CarrieWhite: Julian Assange's character assassination has worked a treat.
dugitman: Correa is establishing himself as the most powerful leftist leader in SA. Since 07 he has consolidated a broken country, re-established international trade(mostly exporting oil to US). Ecuador is applying for membership in Mercosur, and defiantly opening up trade negotiations with China and Iran. We're not doing anything about it because we want their oil so Correa's symbolic denouncement of ATPDEA last week and this move(both using snowden, assange as a front) are his announcement that he is taking charge and making the case that he is the voice of SA.
A Terrible Human: Gosling: Fun fact: Russia still has him, and Russia's attitude towards western extradition attempts is "hahahahahahahaha".That's where he's going to stay.Until they've pumped all the information they want out of him and then they'll willingly send him back or he'll be found to have killed himself with a few shots to the back of the head.
neversubmit: netweavr: I still don't see what the hate surrounding Assange is about. We are Americans we hate who we are told to hate.
ACunningPlan: netweavr: I still don't see what the hate surrounding Assange is about.Fwiw, there's omething about Assange which gives me pause. It's not because I disagree with what he did; there are plenty of people around whose views I don't share, but they don't provoke the same reaction. I just get the sense there's something not quite right about that bloke. Can't explain the response, and I'll fully admit to that being totally irrational.
