(Reverb Nation)   TotalFarker's friend just released his first acoustic album that is his second studio release. He's a very good guitarist and singer/songwriter. Link goes to some samples of his music. Comments appreciated   (reverbnation.com) divider line 11

Nice music, thanks for sharing.
Feels like perfect "Siting Around A Campfire" music.

I really liked In the Vines. I felt it had hints of Metheny. It was beautifully played and nicely recorded.

From a preference point of view I wasn't too hot on the other two but they sounded nice and if that's his voice then it's a good one and nicely used.

I'm a jazz buff which maybe explains why I preferred the first one.

Really lovely. The instrumental was a treat. The vocals were very easy to listen to. Nice balance witht he other instruments on "Angels."

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for listening and for the comments.

Paul is one of my closest friends, and he is an amazingly talented musician.  He's been working professionally for years, and it's really good to see him get some more of his stuff out there for a wider audience to hear.  The music business 'aint what it used to be, was never easy, and he's still making great stuff.

"In the Vines" is really, really well-done.

"Summer Gold" is reminiscent of Chris Jones, specifically "No Sanctuary Here!", with a total lack of low end.  Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but it feels like there's something just a little missing.  With major-label-backing, it's as-is good enough for a top 200.

"Where Angels..." has me at the first lick.  Thirty seconds in and I'm sold.

K, I lied.  "When Angels..." wants a button.

Heh, reminds me when I was 20 and living the bohemian life in downtown Toronto. Wandered into a pawn shop to see what was in one of those places and while I'm peering into a case full of stuff the guy behind the counter says to me, "We sell gold too".

I don't look up but my brain can't figure out why he's telling me this and I say absentmindedly, "Why would I want to buy gol..." and I trail off and look up and he's just looking at me with the slightest ghost of a grin.

Good pawn shop.
