Who gives a shiat about the Founding Fathers.  We all know that Jesus rules in the US.

2013-06-30 01:47:08 PM
Being the only dead guys at a party might have that effect, I suppose.

2013-06-30 02:13:01 PM
And all for entirely different reasons

I dunno, he doesn't look too upset:

I think the founding fathers would have seen their country become the one and only world superpower and been like "You mean we can talk down to the British, and they just have to take it? That's all we really wanted."

2013-06-30 02:16:36 PM
Democrats (23 percent) are about six times as likely as Republicans (4 percent) to think the Founding Fathers would be pleased.

Newsflash: Republicans are six times as likely as Democrats to be whiny douchebags.

Eighty-two percent of Fox News viewers think opposable thumbs are "elitist."

Well, they might not ENJOY it, but I'm sure they'd figure out how to fetch their own food and drinks before long.

Now I'm picturing Franklin asking how much that cost and if he can go next.

82% of the founding fathers would be pissed they'd have to free their slaves, so who gives a crap what they think?

2013-06-30 05:47:54 PM
The founding fathers would think the tree looks thirsty.

FOX got 96% of their viewers to drool when they rang the bell?

I wonder about how they'd feel about everyone having magic picture frames that have moving pictures and the little tablet you don't need chalk to use, or the smallish box in your kitchen that cooks without getting hot.  Airplanes, cars, hell current Trains... The size of buildings, the power of guns... Grocery stores, A (half) black President.
There's a lot different I wonder how they'd feel about...

This is a note to funny both of those posts later...  awesome.

Are you telling me the racist slave owners wouldn't be happy with a black president?

2013-06-30 07:18:43 PM
They probably wouldn't be happy with having to wear their pants down below their bums just to fit in with the cool kids.

2013-06-30 07:33:47 PM
Well, they DID spend a great deal of effort and thought to avoid the kind of tyranny we are seeing every day in the U.S...

I rather imagine most of the would be to busy asking "What sorcery is this?" at the talking boxes to haz a sad.

2013-06-30 07:40:42 PM
Some of those questions read like they were from a push poll, so take it for what it's worth. What I found interesting is that almost 1/3 of Fox News viewers have never heard of Marco Rubio, only a little over 1/3 have a favorable view of Rand Paul, and both Clinton and Obama are viewed more favorably than any Republican on the list.

He'd be too busy fapping to Sinnamon Love videos to care about any FOX News poll.

Agreed that Big Ben (as all the ladies called him) was the original party animal but I was really going for a Jeffersonian Jungle Fever/Sally Hemmings joke there.

Maybe I shoulda gone with Cherokee D'ass or Tyra Banxxx instead?

The founding fathers had ideals transcended the context of their time. There are probably many things most of them they would not like, like women voting, gay rights, etc,.

I am glad we are farther to where that path had us go not still at the start.

I'm just amazed that anyone thinks a Democrat's opinion can be determined by a Fox News poll. That's like claiming the SS has a solid read on how Moses would've felt during Hanukah because they conducted a poll.

Yep. Remember, their "we the people" translated to "we the white male landowners" at that time.

Jefferson didn't have a Lincoln bedroom.  He had the rape room.  And the slave room.   Lincoln replaced all those.

My fellow servicemen should find Hillary to be personally insulting to them.  Consider that in 2016.  I will be voting against her in the Dem primaries (if she runs).

What percentage think it's stupid to attribute a single opinion or philosophy to a vastly, heterogeneous group of people?

"OMG, we don't trust the people and policies we voted for!!!!111!11!

2013-06-30 08:48:49 PM
I think most of the founding fathers would be horrified that we elected a black guy to the office of President.   While many of them opposed slavery, it was often more because they favored economic systems that weren't compatible with slavery then any real moral objections.  Basically none of them wanted to give freeAfricans the vote, let alone let them hold the office of Presidency.

My point is that the Founding Fathers shouldn't bedeified.  They were smart and progressive for their time, but they weren't infallible.  So I say that the founding fathers would not be happy with where we are today as a country, and it is right that it is that way.

2013-06-30 08:49:47 PM
Once they realized we, as a nation, had briefly made alcohol illegal, the founding fathers would get on a ship and go start a new country somewhere else.

Aren't you supposed to stand up when a President shows up or something?

Lazy boi on the bench there is being so disrespectful of all those standing presidents.

Hell, forget the president thing, some of those guys are pretty old and yet there he is, hogging up the whole bench.

I'm surprised that Sarah Palin hasn't taken offense at that.

*blink*

That's so Leno!

2013-06-30 08:59:13 PM
The Founding Fathers, having lived over 200 years ago, would be completely shocked and amazed at the technological wonders and scale of Washington.  They would literally be dumbfounded and probably not be able to forma single logical opinion about the "state" of things there.  This is by far one of the dumbest polls ever.  Who knows and furthermore, who the fark cares what the Founding Fathers would think of the country now?  It would be like asking a caveman his opinion on fiber optics.

Especially with Reagan (PBUH) is standing right behind him.  I hear the House is going to pass a bill requiring you to stand and place your hand over your heart if an image of Reagan appears.

/and is that Teddy Roosevelt third from the right?

That's one hell of a misleading statistic as well.
Personally I believe that Thomas Jefferson would have some "choice words" for most conservative-religious types.

She isn't interested in running, she's not going to run.  Mark my words.  She's said it repeatedly.  I know you farks love to rubs yourselves over the idea that she is going to be the democrat candidate but no, she won't be.  But please, keep planning like it is so.

/wouldn't vote for her either but surely not some conservative asshole
