Subby, I've been arrested falsely for nothing more than holding a sign 'peacefully protesting...' in the US.

Initial charges for disorderly conduct were dropped... only because they didn't apply and were subsequently replaced with harassment charges.

At trial, the state's witness didn't show. No matter, they refiled the case, and they 'won' an almost $1000 fine. Must have cost them ten times to press the issue.

Joke is on them. You know that phrase 'love it or leave it?'

Guess what I did.

BravadoGT: LordJiro: With all our blustering about radical Islam, we're STILL allies with these assholes, possibly the worst of the lot.

And we wonder why nobody takes us seriously.

Obama and his oil-buddies.  Whattya gonna do?

You do realize that we were "allies" with Saudi Arabia long before Obama, right? And, by pushing for green energy, Obama's been taking significant steps towards cutting off our dependency on foreign (particularly Saudi) oil...which would give us far, FAR more leeway to tell the Saudis to quit their shiat.

I still find it ironic that 1.5 years waiting for a trial is bad in another country and 10 years in Gitmo doesn't provoke more outrage.

Ah, Saudi Arabia, where it's better to lock girl children in a burning building than to let them escape, if escape means that they might see men that they're not related to.  I pray Allah exists, because then I'm going to get to watch as He holds the deaths of those 15 children to your account, and sends your "religious enforcers" straight to hell for being such horrible, hateful, backwards people.

Everywhere else in the Middle East is at least trying to make their country a better place for their citizens, even if they're shortsighted about the means.  Even Iran, stupid and blinkered as it inarguably has been, does better than Saudi Arabia.  The one nation in the world where I really wouldn't shed a tear at all if it got nuked.  By anyone.

My culture is better than your culture.  Yeah, you've been around for thousands of years.  And you still can't get it right.
