The walls don't have ears but all of your electronics do?

Damn, that is scary.

Anyone have any idea what the ratio is this days of person to person internet traffic versus machine to machine only?

This is horrible.  We should all vigorously oppose this relentless government intrusion into our lives.

Unless someone reveals classified proof of this intrusion, then we can all come together and call that guy an unAmerican traitor.

Then back to pointless biatching about gubbamint overreach!!

You could just turn off your computer when not in use, and put electrical tape over your built in web cams.

Oh, and stop updating your Facebook with your location every five minutes, it's freaking annoying.

We get it.  You care that Clinton lied about a beeeeeeeeejer but don't care that Bush lied us into a war that killed several thousand American soldiers, tens of thousands of Iraqis, cost us two trillion-plus off-the-books borrowed dollars and compromised national security.

Looks like the Bill of Rights needs a new addition.

Newer and newer ways of invading our privacy are being developed at an ever increasing pace, we need some way to limit these tools from public use until they have been approved in public debate with politicians being on record and accountable for their vote.  Secret interpretations by secret courts on classified programs with broad mandates are NOT acceptable in a check and balance government.

The American People (if not you yourself):

- Voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004, who in turn chose replacement Supreme Court Justices, who in turn upheld the Patriot Act provisions.
- Were, in poll after poll, in favor of war with Afghanistan after 9/11, and who let themselves be fleeced by visions of Iraq WMDs as set forth by former military general Colin Powell.
- Voted for Congressmen who, based on the polls, voted to pass the Patriot Act (and afterwards kept the majority of those people in office).
- Voted for Congressmen who, based on the polls, voted to continually fund the military industrial complex (and afterwards kept the majority of those people in office).
- Are even now still a slight majority, depending on the question, in favor of the federal government having the ability to spy.
- Don't even care about privacy or privacy laws, seeing as how most of them are on Facebook every day sharing photos of wherever they are.
- Are sheep for the media's flavor of the day. OMG Paula Deen is a racist that's totally more important than soldiers still dying every day in Afghanistan. (Grow up people, everyone is racist.)

You want to know why we're spied on? There's your answer. People are increasingly ignorant, anti-social, and afraid of their neighbors, and they want the government to babysit them.
