I was going to post the gasping Arnold pic, with some joke about shareholders.

But I won't now, because yours is funnier.

Johnny Carsen:  The answer is Total Recall.

Total Recall.

Johnny: And the question was:  "What is the latest news out of Detroit?"

Ed: Huh, huh, huh, huh, huh. That's amazing, sir. Amazing how you can reference a movie that hasn't been made yet.

Johnny:  I read the original Philip K. Dick short story. The book is better than the movie. Don't wait in line for it.

I can never remember how to spell Johnny Carson. I keep wanting to stick an "e" in there somewhere. Sometimes in Johnney, sometimes in Carson.

FTA: Ford's child safety locks are a safety feature that keeps the rear doors locked, unless the driver allows them to be.

To be, or not to be. That is the Ford child safety lock.

How hard is it really to mass produce a vehicle? We've been doing it quite a number of years now, and yet ... Are manufacturers constantly finding new corners to cut?

I should think right up there in the Top Ten List of Rules would be admonitions such as "Don't stick complicated parts onto the car that haven't been thoroughly tested first" and "Make sure you run the yellow wire around and to the LEFT of that thingamajig, or else it'll short out and smell funny."

According to TFA, one of those recalls was caused single-handedly by one temp employee that farked up. The process is fine, it's just that modern people don't care enough to do their jobs right.

Yes.  The answer is yes.

This is caused by too much government regulation. If we truly want safe, fuel-efficient cares, we have to get the government out of the way so the Job Creators (tm) can supply them to us.

I know this is sarcasm, but I seriously wonder how many of these issues would be really looked into / fixed if not for the NTSB?

My mother is currently dealing with them over her car spontaneously catching fire and burning to the ground on the highway after the fuel line came unhooked. This was even after the dealer replaced the hose clamp due to a recall. It will be interesting to see what happens.
