soj4life: Jensaarai: Since this race is on CNBC, I'm surprised they haven't had a real-time ticker of Pirelli's stock prices.

Nope, but I bet they could do an episode about Bernie.  They do have a show that has a tagline of "Some people will do anything for money".

Which, airing on CNBC, would make irony implode on itself.

Gary Anderson: "We have heard a lot today about Turn 4 and we have come to have look at what could be causing these punctures. Looking at the part inside the kerb, it is green to match the grass but it is actually concrete. The cars go over the section and the sidewall of the tyre could be getting caught on a sharp part of the kerb, it is about the height we saw the tyre getting cut and coming off."

Did that particular curb (kerb) have any similar effects on the tires from this weekend's GP2/3 races? Has that curb been modified in any way since last year?

Well, that was an interesting race. It's just stupid that all we'll hear about for the next week are "tyres, tyres, tyres." But something is definitely wrong with what's going on.

PS- Rosburg was called in for allegedly ignoring a yellow flag zone, but he's only been given a reprimand. The win stands.

It doesn't look like it but then the tyres, pressures, driving lines and operating tempratures are not the same.

Now this news story is much more timely. At the begining of this month Perrelli wanted to change the construction of the tyres to lessen the chance of delaminations and punctures but the teams blocked it. Now we have had blow outs that could of caused big accidents.

So time and again Perrelli are trying to do a good job but F1 and the teams are stopping them. If i were Perrelli i would tell the teams and Bernie in private to STFU or they will go public with all the crap they are having the put up with and laying the blame where it should belong.

Just got done watching the replay, fantastic finish.  Alonso was a prophet, I guess Seb really was due for some bad luck

Autosport is reporting that Charlie Whiting did consider red flagging the race on safety grounds due to the multiple tyre blowouts.

The Bestest: Think we'd ever see Webber give NASCAR a spin?

Maybe. Right now he's planning to do Le Mans endurance racing, though.

On one hand, watching Seb finally have a bad race was oddly satisfying. On the other hand, it resulted in Alonso getting a podium. Sigh. Some great racing at the end, though. Is it just me, or are the teams finally equalising a bit? Red Bull is no longer unstoppable, and Mercedes, Ferrari, and Lotus all seem to be mostly in technological parity. Even the little guys like Force India and Toro Rosso are getting better.

...of course, we can't have that. Blow it all up next year!

Wouldn't necessarily call Toro Rosso a little guy.. they're pretty much Red Bull's JV squad.

They don't get the blessings of Darth Newey, though.
