This story smells fishy.

I think someone tried to steal the koi from the pond in front of my seafood restaurant, but they ended up taking my whole delivery of fresh fish instead.

Sometimes you just have to say to yourself "There but for the crates of cod go I."

I thought the headline was bad until I read the thread.

How did this happen? Did someone just roe away with them?

2013-06-30 11:17:11 AM
I guess the thieves wanted to be big fish in a small pond.

It was an office park, not a "park park" and the people that questioned them were office workers that worked in the building. ABC got this story so wrong Peter Jennings must be spinning in his grave while smoking a carton of cigarettes.

A man had a pool full of carp.  He took his wallet and taught the carp to pass the wallet, carp by carp, from one side of the pool to the other.  This is called carp to carp walleting.

Geeky threadjack:

Lately, I've been getting "400:  Bad request" errors when seeking an ABC URL.  That means the server received a URL it cannot process; something's malformed about the URL.  But the same URL works under certain circumstances.

Sometimes, all I have to do is paste the URL into a new browser window (new tab yields same error).  But today and yesterday, only an incognito browser window suffices.

I'm using Chrome with Adblock Plus under Win 7.

Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

This is an outrage! The perps were bored kids. Those thieves stole those carp just for the halibut!

Hang on .. when a significant number of Vietnamese boat people were resettled in Denver, geese and ducks started disappearing from both City Park and Washington Park. Somebody in the City Administration put two and two together and had a quiet word with their sponsors.

"The geese and ducks are ornamental. Not a free grocery."

They'll have some problems when the carp evolve into gyrados.

The police rarely pay much mind when crimes are committed on such a small scale.

Having just read a story about koi going missing in my alma mater's botanical garden i am getting a kick... they put up cameras to catch the culprits... which turned out to be otters. I did not even know we had otters in Cape Town / Stellenbosch..

Lived in Sweden. One night, all the ducks disappeared from the pond. They said it was Gypsies.

Clever detectives would find this stolen fish if they used a dragnet.
