A backup safety/KR? Meh. That just makes training camp cuts a bit easier.

I bet it's attempted murder.
*checks*
Nope just an unregistered gun.

"Just an unregistered gun", huh? Are you serious?

Only a simple firearm violation and a DUI? Pansy. The bar has clearly been set to multiple homicides in order to garner news stories.

Is it too soon to discuss NFL player control?

"Lefeged, 25, was in a white Camaro with two other men..."

So was it business in the front and a party in the rear?

This was DC. A stick figure drawing of a gun would get that charge.

FTFA: Lefeged and Timothy Wilson, 23, are both being presented this afternoon on various charges, including: carrying a firearm without license, unregistered firearm, unregistered ammunition, presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol.

What the hell is a charge of unregistered ammunition?

There are nearly 3000 people that make training cap rosters in the NFL. If 3 percent get arrested per year that's about one hundred on them.

Meh.

To fark with the NYL rookie symposium, they need to move all the NFL players in jail or recently (within 5 years) released and do a "Scared Straight" kinda thing.

Bring some of the biggest, baddest "cons" that are not NFL players in to show that they are not the top dogs in the prison yard....

That's actually a very good idea.

Do the same with the ones who are broke because they wasted their money on stupid shiat and leeches.

And he wasn't the one that was driving. Also it sounds like the gun wasn't even on him so I doubt the gun charges will stick.

Constructive possession.  Basically means that if there's illegal contraband in the passenger cab of the vehicle and nobody will claim ownership of it, everyone can be charged with it because they could all theoretically reach it.

Not saying that's what's going on here, but it could be.

Primarily a special teams player, especially with the draft and off season aquisitions. If the Colts release him he can be replaced.

Still, what a dumbass to put himself in that situation.

They actually already do this.  Not to the scared straight level with screaming, but they do bring in ex criminals and people who have wasted their money.  There are tons of mandatory briefings and seminars for rookies.

He isn't just a special teams scrub. He is the special teams captain, and only semi-capable safety behind Bethea and Landry.

Still, what a dumbass to put himself in that situation.

Agreed

I know.  But I think the screaming would actually reach them, whereas they are more likely to sleep through the seminars put on by Greenberg & Wang, CPAs

That wouldn't have been a crime in more than half the states in the US. Just saying.

If only 3% got arrested in their "lifetime"... that would be fairly low:   http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/545987.html

That stuff is a joke. So somebody yells and maybe invades your personal space a little. The coaches have done that often enough for their entire lives that it will seem like business as usual. Besides, If you're in the joint at 250 lbs. with even a little bit of quickness, your hemorrhoids and your canteen items may as well be in a bank vault. It's all about opportunism, and there's sure to be someone, most likely quite a lot of someones, who will be easier to fark over than you, if you're carrying as much size and power as a modern NFL guy typically does.
