I'm pretty sure that Sarah Palin isn't the spokesperson for "Hispanics." Perhaps she should listen to what Hispanic people are saying before making stupid comments.

/oh, right, it's Sarah Palin.

Because she's stickin' it to the libs!  Look at how upset the libs get by what she says!  If it offends a lib, it must be true!

/this is what Fox News viewers actually believe

Concern trolling style of advocacy.  It's an extension of being concerned with the health of women so we have to ban abortion women's healthcare and birth control, or being concerned about the dignity of black people so we have to eliminate all programs that help the poor and affirmative action and scholarships and etc etc.

I don't know what this means. Forget for a moment that I don't believe there is still such a thing as a Reagan Democrat, what is her point?

My recollection is that 'Reagan Democrats' were blue collar, socially conservative mostly big city types who would see a vast pool of cheap labor as a threat.

So, I guess she's technically correct.

Reagan Democrats were somewhat moderate, mostly Northern white working-and-middle-class (often union) families who crossed party lines to vote for him because Reagan told them that their problems mostly owed to the poors and the blacks and the Hispanics. Today, a lot of them are Tea Partiers.

Her point is that by offering a route to citizenship just as Ronald Reagan advocated doing, Congress has offended Reagan's constituents. Duh.

While I understand and can agree with that idea...  On the other hand, it's useful to keep reminding the public that this is the person Republicans thought should be vice president.  This is the person that Republicans spend money to go see speak, to buy her books.  That this is the person that Republicans think Represent their party.

The term immigration reform really is insulting. We're not going to "reform" anything.

The basic argument is if you let us ignore the fact we haven't enforced the law we'll start enforcing it right away.

/yeah right

You've just abandoned the Reagan Democrats with this gay marriage ruling. It was the loss of working class voters in swing states that cost us the 2012 election, not the gay vote. Gays who stayed unmarried because of DOMA respect the rule of law and can see how self-centered a politician must be to fill this gay marriage ruling with favors, earmarks and crony capitalists' pork, and call it good. You disrespect gays with your assumption that they desire ignoring the rule of law.

Palin is a moron, but morons say something somewhat true at times.  I know a number of legal immigrants who are not terribly happy about offering the easy way out(or in?) for people that circumvented the pain in the ass process they did and didn't pay the appropriate dues.  It's kind of sour grapes, but it can be construed as a slap in the face to those who put the effort in.  Then again, some social programs tend to provoke the same emotions

This, it's BS.  The only people who feel this way are white republicans projecting.

I've never been on welfare of food stamps, and feel absolutely no resentment for those that are.  I can tell you why, too:  I'm not a douche bag.

I get told all of the time that as a legal immigrant I am mad about people who didn't do it The Right Way. Except it isn't true. The only people I've ever seen express that bit of idiocy are white male Americans who had to go through the rigmarole of immigration proceedings to bring a foreign spouse here, and it always reeks of the usual American right-wing entitlement complex.

To be fair, no one is.  Like fine wines, sarcasm has a different flavor for each poster.  Pocket Ninja has an over the top, fruity quality to his sarcasm, like a Reisling, whereas this is so dry as to be initially be perceived as actual derp.

Anyways, I'd rather see posts like this than the real derpfest.  Someone post some pictures of Bristol in hot pants to keep this thread rolling.
