Damn, should have checked the Salvation Army or Goodwill for one.

My question is what happens if you bring in an old Reebok one? Will they give you a Nike one?

Sooo... a Tebow jersey?

From the pictures I've seen his county does the blues, not the oranges.

Point still valid.

Those things are going to be a hit in Africa.  A star player from the winners of 2 of the last 6 Super Bowls.

So, can I get a "Patriots Beat Giants in Super Bowk" jersey?

I think I'd hang onto it. Some tard on eBay will really need some 'ironic' item like that and be willing to pay a premium for the ironic awesomeness it will bring to their life once he's convicted.

More like two Tebow jerseys.

What is comparable value of a jersey of a cut player facing at least one murder charge if not more and who will never experience a life outside of a cell much less an NFL stadium. It is a good PR move by the Patriots and chances are will be a discount on a much more valuable player jersey rather than a straight jersey for jersey exchange.

I'd sell it sometime around Halloween.

Forget that crap. I want an autographed Aaron Hernandez white arrest t-shirt that your arms can't fit through.

Surely they still have some Lawrence Maroneys in storage.

All the good jokes are taken, so I'll just point our this is a classy offer. It obviously means Hoodie wasn't involved.

On a somewhat related note, any bets on how long it will take for the WWE to release new Benoit merchandise?

From Pat's pro shop:

Parents encouraged to exchange #81 Hernandez jerseys purchased from the Patriots ProShop and PatriotsProShop.com for any other Patriots player's jersey in store

So If you have an #85 Hernandez jersey, are you shiat out of luck?

This is actually an unexpectedly classy thing for the Pats to do. I hope it's really a straight trade thing and not a "that jersey is worth $2 so we'll give you $2 off this $60 Tebow or Brady jersey.'

Given my history with recent Pats jerseys, I can only imagine what would happen with whichever jersey I would've traded in for his if I got it.   Got a Vinatieri jersey...then he left. Put off getting a new one unti I got a Bruschi jersey...a week before he retired. Second choice that day was Seymour...who then got traded two weeks later.

Thinking my next jersey may be a Grogan or something. Just hope it doesn't kill him.

You just can't trust some NFL teams, but at least they are giving it a shot.

You trade it in for a different Hernandez jersey. I hear the Baltimore Ravens are making him an offer. He can have Ray Lewis's locker too.

Damn the Patriots organization really is getting themselves as far away from Hernandez as they can.  I bet they will even start blurring him out from NFL films replays.  Its starting to get a WWE/Chris Benoit vibe to it

Good thing I do not have a jersey of his, because he is basically a definition of a thug. Good things my Steelers have never had a murderer as far as I remember, just close calls for things like with Big Ben.

I hear the Bengals already have him on their starting roster.

The Steelers had thugs back in the days when that was allowed, even encouraged:

I read a news release from some other source that addressed that. Basically yes, you're SOL.

The "comparable value" thing, I think, is that you can't bring in a #81 Hernandez replica & receive an "elite" Brady jersey in return. Replica for replica, elite for elite, that kind of thing.

I think this is a pretty good offer all around from the Pats. It's good PR in the sense that there should be fewer Hernandez jerseys in the wild (a tangible object that will forever link the organization to an alleged murderer), besides just the good PR that comes from doing any sort of "jersey exchange" rather than shrug and count their money. I understand the need to limit the scope of this exchange to jerseys purchased only through their organization; it's too bad they can't expand it to cover all the Hernandez shirts out there but hey, they didn't have to do anything.

/Lions fan with Stafford and Suh jerseys
//Pretty much have only worn Stafford for the past year, though. Damn arm-stomping hothead. Just play the game.

He's an ex-Gator, now implicated in a murder investigation.
I'm just glad he never played for the Pats
