Sorry, but the only two people concerned in protecting a marriage is the husband and wife. If the dental hygienist is neither, then she has absolutely nothing to do with protecting that marriage.

If the wife has an issue with her husband's behavior with his employee, that's an issue between her and her husband. That said, if she's pissing off his wife she should probably be the bigger woman and voluntarily quit. Workplace romance (or even workplace flirtation) rarely ends well.

She should have moved on, but the reasons for her termination is absolute bullshiat. If the two of them can't grow the fark up, then she needs to move on. He's the one employing her.

Sounds like someone called out the wrong name during climax.

Why on earth did he give her a reason like that?   Either give a legitimate reason, or none at all.

Then again, isn't it at will employment?
"[A]n employer may terminate its employees at will, for any or no reason ... the employer may act peremptorily, arbitrarily, or inconsistently, without providing specific protections such as prior warning, fair procedures, objective evaluation, or preferential reassignment ... The mere existence of an employment relationship affords no expectation, protectable by law, that employment will continue, or will end only on certain conditions, unless the parties have actually adopted such terms. "

"My dental hygienist is cute. Every time I visit, I eat a whole package of Oreo cookies while waiting in the lobby. Sometimes she has to cancel the rest of the afternoon's appointments." -Steven Wright

That's cute, but it slams headfirst into Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.  The state may insist you can terminate someone for any reason, but the Feds would disagree.  That said, "pretty" / "body built for sin" is not a protected class -- in fact there are jobs where appearance deficits will get you fired.

Except that I don't think the dentist's wife would have forced him to fire a man. So it's sort of de facto gender discrimination.

How is this not straightforward? Boss texts cute employee about random stuff, then how often she has orgasms, that's obviously sexual harassment. Employee doesn't respond to inappropriate question, probably because there is no win on that, and she doesn't want to quit or be fired. The guys wife later finds his txt messages and is rightfully pissed at her husband, but rather than leave him over it, demands he fire his employee because of his inability to behave appropriately around her. Guy then fires employee, fallout from his earlier sexual harassment being discovered. Employee should obviously be compensated for how she was treated.

Is that really what happen and not just a simple "my wife doesn't want you to work with me".  If it is just his wife doesn't want her there I would think they would help her get another job with another dentist.

She is attractive. The guy and his wife and the pastor are obviously all tools of the highest order.

I sincerely hope he loses all of his business and his dental practice goes broke.

If the wife thinks firing every moderately attractive woman is going to save her marriage, she's deluded. Her husband's inability to keep it in his pants is the problem that needs to be addressed. If he can't nail the hygienist, he will find some lot lizzard instead.

I loved my dental hygienists when I was getting braces.  They were hot, and there was one that would always lean over and put her breasts in my face every time she reached over for a new dental tool. Which happened very often.  Good times.

Also fired for being "irresistably attractive."

Things would just be so much easier for these pious men if these attrativece women would just cover themselves up entirely. It just ain't right that a woman - simply by existing - can force impure thoughts into the children of God.

When I started reading the story I was thinking "This dude's wife decided that the girl was too irresistible, and the dentist fired her to make the wife happy".

Then I get to the bottom of the story, in more ways than one.

Soon after, Knight's wife, Jeanne, who also works at the practice, found out about the text messaging and ordered her husband to fire Nelson.

Dear Penthouse...

Seriously, I was about 15 and alone with the hygenist, when in mid-conversation and apparently apropos of nothing she smiles hungrily and asks, "Is that what you think I am?  A tigress?"

I was 15 and very innocent and while I knew where she was going I had no idea how to respond.  Which almost certainly saved me from my first encounter with the Crazy.

Fired for being tempting, but not a decision based on gender... is this guy admitting that he swings both ways?

He told her they as one final pathetic attempt at hitting on her.

"I have to fire you because I find you irresistible. Please see my feelings for you. I'm spelling it out now - I'm truly pathetic. Please love me. Ill fire my wife if you'll apply for the wife position."

Because, you know, her children's college fund and keeping up with the mortgage is not that important.

Maybe the wife should have quit her husband.
