...and it'll still be better than anything Abrams and his hack pack craps out.

Oh, and since this went green...

It's nice to see John Byrne still trying to be creative. He sort of went into a holding pattern in the 90s, and being introduced to the internet really tarnished his legacy among everyone but his most hardcore of fans since Byrne is quite the asshole at times.

He's still author of one of the top 5 Fantastic Four runs of all time.

You go too far.

/I seriously enjoyed both of the newer Star Trek films that have been released

Huh, and so, this 'Zine, will it be poorly photocopied, because I've seen a few of these in my time.

So... why is this asinine? Serious question.

Same.

If it's panties in a wad over John Byrne's writing, mmmm'kay. He does pen some decent stories imo.

As for the license, Star Trek are whores about novelizations. If you wanna write Kirk/Spock slash, there's someone who'll read it.

Check out the "Dark Passions" ST books, it's badly written lesbo fanfic with Janeway, Kira, Seven, and Crusher. Yeah, they went there.

Yeah, wondering why as well.  Subby nerd raging or something because his submisson of Bones, Kirk, and Spock having a gay orgy was rejected?

Wow, really? I'm not saying any of the other movies since the Borg one was any good but damn.

I remember finding one of those Star Trek photo-novels in my college library. I think it was  Trouble With Tribbles.

He did do some of the best Superman of all time.

Fanfiction is perfectly acceptable form of expressio. Like pretty much all media, roughly 90% is painfully bad crap, and the other 10 is reasonably enjoyable.

If you don't believe me, just look at the comics industry. All the writers are guys that grew up as fans, and I'd bet a paycheck that more than half of them probably dabbled in fanfiction. God knows pretty much every major superhero has enjoyed fanfic-tier plots over the past twenty years.

/bad fanfiction is one of my guilty pleasures
//it's fun playing "guess what was going on in the author's brain and/or pants"

Didn't John Byrne create the "Sensational She-Hulk" as well?

Wikipedia says yes. I think he was the one that drew the cheescaketastic covers for the comics, too

Didn't he also say that Jessica alba looked like a Mexican prostitute in fantastic four?

He was writer and artist on the book for a while, but Stan Lee created She Hulk.

The best Avengers and X-Men from the late 70's early 80's where Byrne and Austin. Then, Byrne got big and started to do his own inking and thought his sh*t didn't stink. Down hill since then.

You know how I know you didn't RTFA?

From the second sentence: "Taking the concept of the Star Trek photo-novels from the seventies, where episodes were released as photo comics."
