FTFWiki...

Woodstock was designed as a profit-making venture, aptly titled "Woodstock Ventures". It famously became a "free concert" only after it became obvious that the event was drawing hundreds of thousands more people than the organizers had prepared for.

So, yeah, the organizers of Woodstock would completely be down with making money, since that's what they set out to do in the first place.

Hell, people still try to make a quick buck off of it. I remember when Target was selling shiat that was adorned with the Woodstock logo or related to Woodstock.

The hippies sold out, man. It's time to let it go

I'm pretty sure the organizers of Woodstock weren't thinking past getting high and maybe getting blown by the cute chubby hippie chick behind the stage.

/Not that there's anything wrong with that.

//and that hippie chick probably turned out to be grandma to boot.

WTF am I reading?

Jesus, that was the most Britishy article I've ever read. Was there some type of 'Make Gordan Ramsey sound like he's from Alabama' bet involved in its writing?

I'm sure there are a bunch more. The "Stock" suffix has been co-opted. Get over it.

Maybe I've been playing too much Fallout lately, but I parsed that headline as "Chef apocalyptic", and started thinking of brahmin steaks and squirrel on a stick

Stockgate. Unless you're talking about a scandal convention, then it'd be Gatestock.

The sad thing is I read that in Ringo Starr's voice, and not George Carlin's.

So, $300 for a tasting event in an excellent setting? How much is a room?

I'm not opposed to blowing a few hundred bucks for an interesting evening. I have a history of spending stupid money on interesting things and a thousand dollar date wouldn't be a bad thing.
