I was following this as it happened and actually thought exactly that. I pictured some vicenarian "social media consultant" whose only duties so far had been to barf out press releases and bumper sticker slogans. When the big pushback happened, no one with any moderating experience was around to stop the SMC's solution of "DELETE ALL THE POSTS!!1!". Then the other staffers jumped in trying to get ahead of the whole thing and it all melted down.

"Fark you!" - Overzealous Constituent.

Kyle Straub, another commenter who captured his post before its deletion Wednesday night, echoed that concern.

"If you can't post it on Facebook, how are you supposed to express your opinions to the governor?" said Straub, 22, who is gay.

I agree with these folks regarding the sad attempts to silence dissent, but this particular statement is overwhelming in its stupidity.  Straub, there is more to the world than Facebook.

Every single story that came out on this idiot when he was a congressman made him seem about as dumb as Michelle Bachman. That he went from the House to governor I still find astonishing.  Granted I haven't noticed him doing much major damage yet, but I haven't really been paying attention.

RINO. A Real RepublicanTM would have doubled down on being called on it.

Usually the media in Indiana do whatever they can to cover up their stupidity (they did this with Mitch Daniels too) Which is why I'm shocked the Indianapolis Star is reporting on this.

A facebook page is like an ad for yourself, I dunno if deleting posts is really that big of a deal. It isn't like there aren't a thousand other outlets to take a shiat on this bigot.

Pence isn't stupid; he's just close-minded, intolerant, and self-centered.  We used to be fairly close friends back in college (his room was next to mine in the FIJI house), and even then he had some wacky beliefs. He said that the Earth was the center of the universe because it's where Jesus was born, and that evolution was a lie from Satan.  When he was dating Karen, he told me that he had to pray to God to forgive her because she had been with other guys before him.  The weird thing about him is that he's not just some Hoosier hick; he comes from a comfortable background in Columbus, IN, and he is educated and well-traveled. But his extremely narrow religious views have really stunted him as a human being. He used to be really cruel to people that he thought were "sinful."

Oh fark these people. "Women are right to understand that abortions after 20 weeks are barbaric".

Women having abortions after 20 weeks are generally people who would have wanted to keep the baby! For fark's sake, I'm a *GUY* and I can comprehend that most women won't go "WELL, I've waited through hell and morning sickness for FIVE MONTHS, *NOW* I'm going to decide to abort JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT!"

Why is it that the people in this country who scream loudest about freedom are the first to try and take away from anyone who does not agree with them.

I still can't figure that out.

So I searched for some entertainment and see this one women posting crazy things one after another - Ted Kennedy killing a woman, planned parenthood created to get rid of minority women, etc.  And I think what kind of person would spew so much derp in successive tweets so I click on the profile - Fox news contributor/townhall editor.  https://twitter.com/KatiePavlich

I love that SCOTUS has given the GOP another reason to rip itself apart. They can condemn the ruling and alienate moderate voters or they can embrace it and alienate their base. It's lose-lose.

I call him "Governor Teatard" for a reason.

Fun fact: The first bill he signed into law was a massive property tax cut to farmers... who vote Republican

She's the blonde one, isn't she? No matter how reasonable she tries to sound, she always injects some measure of crazy or stupid into the narrative. Always. I don't trust her.

Indiana got the governor it deserves: a hate-filled ideologue who bears a creepy resemblance to Jonny Quest character Race Bannon. Given the state's history, (John Birch Society, anybody?) I'm sure Race Bannon is still a big hit in parts of the state.

Are there any non-blonde women on fox?  Honestly I don't watch it other than occasional clips that pop up, but it was always my understanding that they are pretty much all blonde.

Serious question... I lack facial recognition.  Are some of those duplicate pictures of the same person?

Hmmm. I'd have gone with, "rogue staffers in Cincinnati who I just learned about from the news".

Seriously, the fact that it has such a root in society is just plain stupid. As are the people who live for it.

Could be. I didn't examine the photos that closely. I just GIS'd for "blonds on fox news".
