I liked that one episode when he changed into somebody else at the end and that was next week's show.

Possibly the saddest ending to any series

I have said before and will say again, reboot this series.  20 years in the future a scientist is investigating the long abandoned project and leaps.  Get Bruce Campbell to play the Al type character. Heck you could even have Sam show up from time to time as the chamber is operational again.

you can even cast someone to play Sam's daughter.  Do you give this new leaper all of Sam's super powers (7 doctorates, super kung fu, super musical talent, etc...)

But Dr. Samuel Becket never returned home.

:(

Uh, how could it? The show's "future" took place in 1999.

Well, Sam did have a daughter while he was leaping.  And I think Al said she grew up to be a super-genius like Sam.

Yes.  the only good thing to come from those shiatty episodes.  she doesn't know she's sam's daughter though.

way she's between 40 or 50 now.  who would you cast to play her?

Moon Zappa? Right age, right look for the daughter of a super genius.

Not quite.

The show's timeline began in 1995. It was 1999 by the last episode.

And, during one episode, Al said Sam was disturbing his watching of Super Bowl XXX, it was the 4th quarter, and the Steelers were down by 3.

And, in the 4th of the actual Super Bowl XXX, at one point in the 4th, the Steelers were, in fact, down by 3.

So, yeah, the writer stumbled onto accurately "predicting" pieces of Super Bowl XXX.

Still more accurate than Back to the Future 2.  The Cubs playing Florida in the World Series?  Florida's not even in the right league for that to happen.  Some "prediction".

Was it me or was the network(NBC?) during thr original airing of this show constantly changing the air dates, time slot?

And towards the end of the show was he jut leaping into different animals all the time?  Might have to re-watch.

Netflix has it, but not ALL the eps are there, unfortunately.

Also, you run the risk of getting episodes with heavy music alterations unless you sink the cash into the Region 2 DVDs for the show.

The US versions of the DVDs for seasons 2 and 3 have heavy music replacement, even going so far as to replace Georgia On My Mind in the episode about Al and his wife with some generic piece of shiat muzak.

The episodes are intact for the UK releases, though. And I've seen people around the 'net say that the music is mostly intact for Netflix and Amazon streaming, but can't confirm.

It's when you're making blue sky predictions that something will come true. Nothing else about the future in that show did.

QL fans have been hoping for around a decade that Siffy would get their head out of their ass, get Don Bellisario back, and restart Quantum Leap with Sam's daughter as the leaper looking for her dad.

10 years ago, Bellisario was still healthy enough to do it, and Dean Stockwell was young enough to at least start the series off.

Now? Bellisario has brain issues, Stockwell is ancient...  it's sort of a lost cause. All that would happen now is a shiatty rastafied reboot that would suck.

Perhaps, but ten years ago the concept of the reboot was unlikely at best. Now, it could get some traction.

But I hear you. My lost cause is a live action kotor tv series. Never going to happen, but I can keep imaging how cool it would be, right?

I would support a new QL... as long as it was anyone but Sam and Al as the main characters.

Set it at the same project, still use Ziggy, mention Sam and Al once in the pilot, and go about your merry way. Never even have to reference them again.

But any reboot that recasts Sam and Al will be a flaming piece of shiat, end of story.

/and when will Siffy wrap up Sliders? Everyone but the Professor could use the work for a reunion movie, and they could even retcon out the last two-and-a-half seasons by saying we were following a different group of Sliders!
