Or the thousands of disabled US vets, or a proper computer program to process VA claims, etc.

Gotta do something with that $300B budget!  Either spend it or lose it!  If you don't spend it all, the Government won't give you as much the next year!

When I was in the Navy and the end of the fiscal year approached, I was told, as the dept. Supply Petty Officer, to order anything and everything I could think of.  Didn't matter if we needed it or not, just order, order, order.

IMHO, we should reward the grunts for saving money!  It the job of senior NCOs and officers to see that maintenance and other work gets done, so they don't get anything.  Any money left over at the end of the fiscal year - having met all maintenance goals, as confirmed by the senior NCOs and officers - would be split among the grunts as a bonus!  I suspect we'd see a lot less waste!

The quatermaster corps is sending someone to kill you before can spread your heresy any further.
