Reminding me how old that show is?

Before I go to sleep every night, I summarize the day's activities in a skeptical, Scully voice.

I want another movie. I don't care if the last one was worse than SIDS. More mulder and scully please.

I saw the first episode of the X-Files on the old C-Band Satellite Wild Feed sent out hours early for tv stations to record for playback that night.

I knew from that episode, without hardly anyone else in the world having seen it, that it was going to be a hit.

Started rewatching the series with my spouse (he's never seen it) in fits and starts not all that long ago.  It starts to burp in the later years, but holy shiat, Beyond the Sea in S1 with Brad Dourif was a terrific episode.

I need to get him up to the episode with the Jim Rose Circus.  And Clyde Bruckman.

Needs a reboot prob more than any other show. With all the secret government shiat going on post 9/11, they could do some really provocative episodes.

Would still bang that like the percussion section of a special-needs marching band!

God... it's been 20 years and I can still hear her voice saying the full line: "if he dies because of what you've done, I'll be the one to throw the switch to gas you out of this life for good, you son of a biatch!"*

Beyond the Sea.  What a great episode, easily one of the best.

* not exact, but close enough

Bashar and Asma's Infinite Playlist: Before I go to sleep every night, I summarize the day's activities in a skeptical, Scully voice.

Do you have a podcast I can subscribe to?

Recently started re-watching this on Netflix with my wife.  Never noticed before, but Scully practically misses every instance of paranormal activity (until her Dad dies), no wonder everyone thinks Mulder is crazy, he is the only one who sees anything cause he's always jumping into action.

Heh, it's bringing back some great Mulder/Scully sexual tension memories back.  There's a great moment in Fire (Season 1, Episode 11) where Scully turns the investigation around when Mulder is looking pretty sad and pathetic in his hotel room.  Scully gives some key info and Mulder stands up and starts taking off his robe, the camera cuts to Scully eyeing him up and I paused it at this point because the expression on her face says "Yes!! Mulder's back!" and also, "Oh my God, abs!!", then she says "What are YOU gonna do?" in such a great way.... ah you gotta see it to believe it.

A lot of episodes are "how do we prove Scully wrong this week."

The only major weakness I have found with the show is holy fark did it take her a long time to start believing like Mulder.

LOVED this show. I went to the X-Files EXpo in Detroit back in 98 or so. I bought the I Want To Believe poster and managed to get it signed by Cancer Man, X, Langley from the Lone Gunmen, Tooms and Jose Chung. Charles Nelson Reilly himself. That was a terrific time. Poster is framed in my basement studio.

It brings back memories in my pants.  But I'm not sure what episode it is.  One of the later ones I don't like as much, maybe "Scully hangs out with CSM"?

Well, you got what I was going for at least. It's from the Vegas/Lone Gunmen episode Three of a kind.

The entire run is on Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime. Cheaper alternative if you can't find those box sets.

I was a complete X-phile back in the day, total merch whore, reading/writing fanfic online (NOT a shipper), the whole nine yards.

Went to the EXpo in 98, too, the first one in Oakland. It was the day before "The Red and The Black" was aired. Anyway, Alex Krycek was there and in the Q&A my daughter was going to ask him when the hell he and Mulder were going to get together (she was a little proto-slasher back then), but she chickened out and asked for a hug instead (she said he was strong and smelled great). So the next night on the show, when Krycek kissed Mulder, I nearly had an orgasm on my couch *sigh* especially since I'd been yelling at the screen through most of the encounter "For god's sake, KISS him already!" - and he *did*!

Good times, good times.

/still treasure my xfiles merch and the memories
