Brian Blessed's Bastard Boy: I like to arrive fashionably late.  Anywho, Another busy week here at the B4 house, as we now have 12 more additions to the household.  Rosemary's first clutch is now completely hatched and we only lost two eggs this time, so we're pretty pleased with the results.
[fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net image 720x960]
Mo is now enjoying sitting next to the terrarium and watching the lizards run around, but I also think he likes it because no other cat jumps up there and he can be left alone.  More pics of the kittehs here shortly, but a BIG thank you to Lilyspad.  It is a greatly appreciated gift.

They are adorable!

Brian Blessed's Bastard Boy: And here we begin with the Dawwww moments.  The kittehs will now be five weeks old tomorrow, and they are just all over the place now that they have graduated to the living room.  The wife's red couch is now ground zero for them for some reason, but things are going well with all of them.  Uncle Piggy for some reason seems a little scared of them, and Uncle Mo stays far away.  Aunt Fatty Waffles is another one who has nothing to do with them, but momma Scampi is doing a great job with all of them, especially during feeding throw down when Sashimi Fettucini and Moo Shu Tiramisu decide to start a fight over who goes where.  So to start with, here's Sashimi and me after I thought I'd take a nap for a while, but was rudely interrupted.
[sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net image 720x960]
And when I try to be on my couch, the result is the same.
[fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net image 720x960]
Probably the last time they all sleep like this, seeing as how they don't really all fit in there anymore.
[sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net image 720x960]
Moo Shu, and the great stretch out sleep.

Not to be out done, Pu Pu Pasta does the back stretch sleep also.

And then there's our little S-H-I-I-T-A-K-E Parmesan, the little loner.  She's content to go off on her own and prefers to be left alone during play time.

James72: Happy Caturday everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around much in the past few weeks.

So, last week, my vet stopped by to do Sophie's pre-op bloodwork and exam. She recorded it for her TV show.

Even though this is embarrassing, here is a link to the episode with me and Sophia. http://tailsfromthecatdoctor.ewave.tv/
Let me know what you think.

No need to be embarrassed. I think you did an awesome job, in fact better than the vet when talking directly to the camera. Though, you did make me cry before I was completely awake. I think getting the word out is a great thing and you've done a great service to other cat guardians. Thank you!

And, thank gods and goddesses all mine came back negative for FIP and Coronavirus.

/off to hug her kittehs
//even the little vixen who bit her arm this morning..grrr

/ I'm a hardcore nissan fan.
// ...and what did you think would happen?

/altima

My experience with new cars since I could afford my first new car in 1986

1986 Buick Skylark...prettiest car you've ever seen in the service bay..where it spent most of its life.
1990 Nissan Stanza - Awesome!
1992 Nissan 240sx - Awesomer (small mid-life thing going on)
1994 Nissan Sentra - Money probs...had to trade out the 240 :o(
1996 Mercury Villager - I cheated...It was really a re-branded Quest with more options.
1996 Ford Windstar?- Ford gave me a great deal when I returned the Villager. It was a nice van though.
1998 Nissan Altima. - For the Wife.
2000 Nissan Frontier 4X4 Crew cab - Bright Yellow - My baby, I had this one the longest.
2004 Nissan Sentra - Rare model with the 2.5 liter. A rocket. It was for the wife but my testosterone picked it.
2008 Nissan Versa - For the wife. The Sentra was too powerful for her...My bad!
2009 Nissan Murano SL - I'm getting old
2012 Nissan Murano SL - Loaded. I'm officially old.

None of these Nissans (and the Fords) ever gave me any problems. The Buick on the other hand couldn't go two weeks without a trip to the shop.

Wow, Sorry for the wall of text. That turned into a trip down memory lane.

Have a cat.
 [www.smugmug.com image 406x304]

Lemme guess. Big Nissan fan?

//I remember when the company was called Datsun. Bet you do too.

Ha!  I do!  My Grandpa sold Datsuns for a living in the 70s, everybody in our family owned one!  My dad had a biatchin orange 510.  (That is until his three kids got too big to all fit in the backseat without fights breaking out, so it got traded in for a big old Impala.  Which was pretty cool too actually.)  To this day I still call Nissans Datsuns.  :op

Although I never actually learned to drive, I've owned (and had ex-husband drive the ever-lovin shiat out of) several Honda Civics, and adored every single one of them, would not hesitate to recommend!

Whew! For a minute there I thought I was out of beer!! But then, I checked the frig....still have one left!! WOOT!!

I don't have beer but I have Woodchuck

Well, I do have a bottle of Edmund Fitzgerald but not sure you want to drink it. I've had it for 3 years.
What can I say, the bottle is really freaking cool :)

I don't know what either one of those are, but.....hey! Bust 'em open!!! :D

Woodchuck is hard applecider..also known as Apple Jack..and Edmund Fitzgerald is made by the Great Lakes Brewing Co. and is a dark beer. I like it, very smooth. No bitter finish.

Oh, okay! That sounds nice! I'm not really much of a micro-brew kindof person. I have a boring palate, but I am always up to trying something different. I usually end up not liking it, though. I'm a cheap date.... :D

Actually, Apple Jack is apple brandy (aka US made calvados). Woodchuck is yummy!

I do have a bottle of mead in the fridge. (White Winter Winery from Northern Wisconsin and really tasty)

.
A woodchuck who may not be apple but he does look a bit hard:

I had some mead for the first time last Saturday night at Litha ritual - I was rather surprised by how good it tasted.

Mmmm....mead.
I gots a batch going right now...well, two actually. One is spiced orange mead, the other is going to be flavored with rose.
For those of you playing at home and going 'So what's the difference?', mead is made from fermented honey while wines are made from fermented fruit. Beers, ales, etc. are from fermented grains.

Ya wanna watch out for those smooth, sweet meads. They have very little alcohol 'bite'...but they can kick like a Missouri mule.
Mine usually come out at 20-23% alcohol. Commercial wines are usually around 9-10%.

~*~*~*~*

ACHEIVMENT UNLOCKED

Last night the Raven-Casper interaction progressed from 'Tag' and 'Hide-n-Seek' to wrestling.
Unfortunately it happened at about 4A, so ...

oh, mead. i loves me some mead. how do you get the alcohol % that high? do you test it? my friend has been brewing it for years and says the sweeter the mead the lower the content, since it eats the sugar to produce the alcohol. can't wait to get shnockered on it in a few weeks

Salem Witch: sno man:

That cat looks like he can take care of himself...
But he'll be back. He's just got some cool cat stuff to do.

He must be. But he is so cross-eyed, I make sure to call his name as I approach him. If I don't he runs away.

He looks like one of a pair of cats my family had when I was a kid. Cheech & Chong were littermates with that coloring. Chong had a kink in his tail, and Cheech's eyes were more crossed than Chong's but otherwise they were almost identical. Cheech unfortunately disappeared a couple of years after we got them, but Chong lived a very long life with our family. He used to love to change the oil in the neighbors' cars (used to come home smudged with oil, we gave him baths regularly and he liked them!), and he would hitch rides to work with people if they left their car windows open overnight. One neighbor in particular learned to check inside her car before leaving for work after having to drive the little booger home a couple of times. He was a great cat.

P.S. This was a long time ago and I was a kid. I didn't know any better, so all of our cats were indoor/outdoor. I have since learned how hard it is on a cat and its environment to let it outside, so any cats I have had as an adult were strictly indoor cats.

A friend of mine and I stopped in at a 7-11 down in SoCal and the register rang up to that amount. The cashier quickly added a penny. Nuh-uh! I IZ POOR! It took me a long time back then to find enough change to buy stuffs from a 7-11. I told her to take the penny off and if it bothered her that much, take another penny off. We actually argued about it for a while before my friend dragged me out yelling "I'm not listening to you fight over a penny when I wanted to go to the taqueria anyway!"

I'm superstitious about some things, but that's not one of them. If for some odd reason I'm ever in a kitchen with you and you drop something and I yell "Watch out!", I'm warning your house Nissen so they don't get hurt and then do bad things to you like tie your cows' tails together or make your milk curdle. You gotta be mindful of those things, you know! Still, feel free to giggle at me.

Next time, try adding some breadcrumbs and milk. You warm the milk up and mix with the crumbs, then squish in the meat & seasonings. Makes for a REALLY moist burger.

Oh, wow. Just heard on local news one of these is hanging out in a tree near an apartment complex pool area about two miles from my house.
pt-lobos.parks.state.ca.us

They'll send someone out to dart it, tag it, relocate it up the hill. It's been so hot here he's probably looking for water. When they come this far into the city, they're usually young males trying to find territory, food and water. Still, it's been a couple years since we've had one this far into the city. The water sources in the foothills dry up quickly, but they usually end up on people's farms drinking out of horse troughs or their ponds and pools, not down here in the 'burbs.

I am very familiar with the tokay (aka "f- you lizard") variety of gecko - can't tell from your pic if this is one (they are greenish with reddish spots)

Insects are a great bet - beware they tend to eliminate almost whole (like people with corn) - avoid
over bright lights if it is a tokay - they are nocturnal/crepsucular. The ones here eat palmetto bugs with much glee.

I've some that are close to a foot long - and they will let you know if they are threatened

enjoy - they are neat creatures

My little nephew came out from central California to visit the farm. Before he left we took the gecko out to the willow tree by my clothes line. He let it go and we saw it run into some leaves. He put the little dinosaur and dolphin statues from the jar in the base of the tree so it would know where home was. He named it Gustav. My sister thought it was a banded gecko, it was orangy tan and had a black and white striped tail. Cool little thing but I don't want the bother of feeding it, and I want it out in the garden eating those bugs.

Your little nephew has excellent taste in names. I have a cousin named "Gautr", the Old Norse variant of that name. It means "stave (staff) of the Goths" and since the Goths were a Scandinavian tribe, you now have a Gecko named for Nordic weaponry (or one who wields it) guarding your garden from the ebil bugzes!

I too, hate when that happens. Or when a store purchase totals that amount.

Really just a number.... I have black cats and do walk under ladders..

I have a black cat but still don't like having one cross in front of me while I'm driving. And I have no problem walking under ladders.

I crossed a black cat's path the other day. He was just chillaxin' on the sidewalk and I went zipping down the street right in front of him. He lives a few doors up from me and his hoomin is a little kid who named him "Cool". So, does Cool get the bad luck because a black-clad hoomin crossed his path, or do we cancel each other out?

Yes, I wondered about that when it happened, as even though that is not one of my superstitions, it's hard not to know about it.

Also, what about things like THIS?

I say the kid's an evil wizard in training, but that's probably just me. For all we know he's an accountant (which is really close to the same as a wizard, just less cats).
