I never saw the show but this is my favourite scene withJames Gandolfini. It's from a UK satire called In the Loop, about the Iraq War. It's based on a show called Thick of It.

I for one am very glad that there wasn't an episode featuring that insipid Joan Osborne song.

Is the satire the fact that he's WAY out of regs to be military even at the Pentagon? Cuz, unfunny clip is unfunny.

Yo, Imma let you finish, but John Cleese gave the best eulogy ever.

Wow... i had heard Michael Imperioli was short, but to see photos of him barely even taller than the car, was weird, and sort of disturbing.

I tried watching the Sopranos in re-runs, caught the episode of Tony being gut shot, thought it was well done and excited for more. Tuned in a few weeks later to catch another episode and it was the same one. never went back.

addiction sucks

It is kind of nice to read about such an intense, successful actor whose colleagues, costars and directors universally loved and praised, rather than some pretentious, phony dipshiat who treated crews like crap and acted like the world owed him.

You can tell a lot about a man by what those who worked closest to him have to say.  Which, coincidentally, is the only reason I'm inclined to give Mel Gibson a break ....

I really, really , REALLY recommend you either find someone w/ the whole series or just download the entire thing and watch it in marathon sessions.

Thank you.  I had never seen that.  It brought tears to my eyes.  Still remember riding the bus in to campus, reading the news of Chapman's death in the college paper, and thinking, "Poor Mrs. S.C.U.M., whatever will she do?"

It was worth posting then.  I came across it on youtube by chance years ago and it kinda stuck with me.  I'll always have some level of respect for John Cleese, not matter what, because only a truly funny man could make people laugh at a funeral.

Pictures of the celebs at the funeral from outside the church.
The whole Sopranos cast showed up plus more. Steve Steve Schirripa was devastated.

Also from Michael Clarke Duncan's funeral, Jay Leno's eulogy. Whatever you might say about Leno, you've gotta admit this was classy.

I'm amazed at how terrible some of the old cast look - Aida never cleans up well, I guess; Joey Pants and Imperioli both look awful; Dominic Chianese looks frail. Granted, some of them weren't young when the show was on the air, but some of the younger cast, no excuse...

Edie, of course, looks good, and is Jamie Lynn pregnant?

Michael Gandolfini better be careful - looks like he inherited his father's tendency to dumpiness.

Thanks for posting that, as I only read it once as young man and hadn't since.

I really, really wish that HST were around to give his take on the Tea Party and other modern nonsense.

What the hell happened to Lorraine Bracco? Dominic Chianese looks younger than she does.
