And there's a Cooking Channel, that advertises on the Food Network... it is all very confusing.

Cooking Channel is owned by Food Network, and actually shows, like, COOKING shows.

It also carries NOT MY MAMMA'S MEALS, hosted by Paula's son Bobby, who has to be shiatting bricks right
now considering how much he has leveraged her reputation to get where he is, and how many times she's
guested on his show.  None of those shows will be re-run, I'm sure, and though he hasn't lost his job yet
its probably only a matter of time.

FTFA: Logsdon knows it's a longshot, but said the company wants to offer Deen a chance "to get back to the food" and that says the star would have the chance to "shape a fledgling network." She wasn't overly concerned about what prompted the Food Network to drop Deen."Based on what we know, the remarks that she said happened 25 years ago. That doesn't mean that it was right then or it's right now, but she has apologized ... America is a very forgiving nation."

Translation: Even bad, racist publicity is better than no publicity.

I guess I don't watch enough Food Network to know that they don't show cooking shows.  Actually all I've ever watched on that channel is "Good Eats," which is most assuredly about cooking and not just a reality show about cooks.

The next thing you're going to tell me is that TLC doesn't have shows about learning anymore.

Well, they still have shows where people cook, but the format is almost exclusively game show/reality show competitions like Iron Chef. The Science channel and the Smithsonian channel are closest to being what TLC used to be. It's really a shame, I loved The Learning Channel back in the day.

"...And, if Paula Deen is interested in helping to grow the real Food Channel into something that you all will watch, we are all ears. We want to take her apology seriously, and believe we can be part of helping her use this as a way to address such issues in the future, if she so desires. Tell her to contact us at editor[nospam-﹫-backwards]lennahcdoof*com.

We're getting her mail anyway."

Well I don't want to attack or defend but i remember watching her show years ago and thinking to myself "how does this woman eat such unhealthy food and not get sick?" Also whenever I hear a southern drawl I automatically think 'racist hick' so i'm not one to throw sticks at anyone for being judgmental or racist.

Apparently that was just a particularly bad photo of them, and was quite spontaneous.

Them as of last year:

Apparently they are in their 50's, have the mental capacity of 5-year-olds, and now live in a home, but are actually very friendly. And they're from rural South Africa.

Form reply:

Dear Farktard,

You obviously know nothing about the woman you're defending or you'd know she was on the Food Network, not the Food Channel.

You can send your bunched-up panties to them at [correct email address]. Glad to help, although had you two brain cells to rub together, it wouldn't have been necessary.

Have a nice day, if that's even possible for someone so easy to anger.

Sincerely,
The channel that Paula Deen has never been on

I can see how someone might confuse the Food Channel with the Food Network. But it takes a really special kind of stupid to criticize the Food Channel in the very comments section of the article where they're saying they're not the Food Network: http://www.foodchannel.com/articles/article/those-who-love-paula-deen /

Huh. I thought they had to change it because someone else owned the rights to the name. I stand corrected.

The Science Channel? the one that shows marathons of science fiction shows? the one that has the hilarious (but quite obviously not science related) An Idiot Abroad with Karl Pilkington?

not to mention the inspiration for this Onion piece :

Fair enough, but they also have Mythbusters, which is very much in the spirit of the old TLC, and Through the Wormhole, How It's Made, Brain Games, etc., all excellent series.
