swaniefrmreddeer: nekom: Well.. how do you go about solving a mess like that without risking lives?I don't think you do. I can't see this situation ending well.
nekom: Evac the area and hit it with a missile, then cleanup? That'd be my only idea.
the_sidewinder: nekom: Evac the area and hit it with a missile, then cleanup? That'd be my only idea. The rail cars are on a bridge that's over a river that feeds drinking water to cities and towns downstreamCurrent plan from what I've read it to use a big fat cable to string together the cars so that in the event of a collapse, they don't float away. I think I've heard them thinking about getting some sort of crane in as well to lift the cars off the track
bsharitt: 5 tankers cars of petroleum being lost? That should be enough to bump up gas prices 20 cents a gallon.

Russ1642: rbaron71: Here's what we've got (image from Calgarypuck):They could hook up some cables and just pull them off the bridge.
IdBeCrazyIf: Russ1642: rbaron71: Here's what we've got (image from Calgarypuck):They could hook up some cables and just pull them off the bridge.Assuming the linkage for the cars is workable and able to be detached, and the detaching them doesn't destabilize the area and lead to collapse.
utah dude: explode the cars from the inside-out to create a huge fuel-air mixture, then detonate the mixture... evacuating the entire surrounding area, first.
Oakenshield: Interesting to see what they do aboot this.
Russ1642: Has anyone seen a report where they've confirmed what product is in the cars?
