(WBUR Boston)   Gomez losing Tuesday to Ed Markey is all Scott Brown's fault, who won due to Martha Coakley, who's been attorney general under Deval Patrick. I'm really just name-dropping at this point   (cognoscenti.wbur.org ) divider line 22

I live in MA, and I follow politics pretty closely, and I've already forgotten that this race even happened.

Blame quotas. Once the state elected an Indian there was little pressure to add a Latino.

And Deval Patrick was appointed as an Assistant AG by Bill Clinton, who played sax on Arsenio Hall's show - Arsenio, who was in Blankman with David Alan Grier, who was in The Woodsman with...

Low turnout in a special election in an off-cycle year in a traditionally strong Democratic state is bad news for Obama's re-election chances

...and it was on a random Tuesday in June when it was hotter-than-Hell with a Democratic candidate who was about as unexciting as you can make them.

Scott Brown is mostly just the poster boy for the Republicans rallying to get someone in to a previously Democrat occupied seat during a special election.

Martha Coakley ran the worst campaign it recent memory.

Don't act like you deserve the seat simply by virtue of having a D next to your name, and don't insult the home team.

If you can manage to avoid those two things, a Massachusetts senate seat is indeed a damn near sure thing for a Democratic candidate.

Well, that, and a great excuse to make up a scandal that allows John Kerry to become Secretary of State so you can get that sweet, sweet, MA Senate seat all to yourself. Tell me how that works out, GOP.

She's still Attorney General of the Commonwealth.

I like her in that role - she in no way deserved nor should of won the Senate race

I seem to remember Scott Brown's win was tacked up to being a Tea Party victory against the evil liberals.  But this gets little press.  I wonder why.

I think one of the cases bundled into yesterday's DOMA decision was filed by Coakley.

She also brought suit against the EPA to try and force the gov to regulate CO2 emissions.

Stop watching WHDH or Fox25. WCVB is the only local news you need
