Good. He's got a farked up last name, so fark him.

Sounds like they need to swallow their pride and bring ARod back

That headline sounds more like they cut him than lost him for the season due to an injury.

Bad news? He was hitting about .200. Better to have Overbay back playing daily.

I'm guessing his return was a little rushed. Headline is kind of weird, and bad

He only had like 50 PA and his wrist clearly wasn't right.

Plus, Overbay sucks

The fact that A-Rod could actually play more games than Teixeira between now and 2016 makes me a sad, sad panda

2013-06-27 10:55:54 AM
meh.
The Yankees will write off Texeira, ARod and Jeter and buy the best free agents on the market to replace them.  Then they'll trade some trash with their logo on it for your favorite team's best player and top two prospects.  After that, they'll screw your sister and wipe their dick on the drapes.

But he had a dozen big swings in the first month and a half, so he's still great!

If the Yankees still want an overpaid, under-performing first baseman, I'm sure the Phillies would be willing to work something out.

Went to MSJ as well.  Thought he was a douche.  Thought the entire baseball squad was full of douches.  The wrestling team was cool though.

Those. Bad thing about it? Because he did come off of the DL, even how brief, the WBC is no longer responsible for his salary.

I didn't know him back then, just that he went there and was a couple years behind me. Enough of a connection to wish a dude well in his professional endeavours.

I'll take this time to thank the Braves for the following people:

Elvis Andrus - MLB Starter
Neftali Feliz - MLB Starter
Matt Harrison - MLB Starter
Chris McGuinness - MLB Backup (Via Redsox for Jarrod Saltalamaccia)
Roman Mendez - AA (Via Redsox for Jarrod Saltalamaccia)

Ah, so got out one year ahead of the big "Mr. Gee event" that surprised absolutely no one.
I suppose my feelings were colored by having to interact with him directly.  Otherwise, I probably would have cheered for him as well.

"It's very tough, especially in a season where the team could probably use me," Teixeira said.

So he's saying that in some seasons they don't need him?

It would help if Feliz and Harrison could get back from the DL.

and just to pick another scab, the Rangers picking up Arias instead of Cano in the ARod deal...

I know what you mean. I avoided the douches as best I could and I don't wish ill on anyone, but there are a few guys whose success would get a shrug.

Mr. Gee. Now there's a name I've not heard in a long, long time. You're right though, everyone knew about all that. Worst kept secret on campus. This day and age, they'd have burned the campus to the ground.

Since Teixeira is under contract through 2016 at a rate of $22.5 million per season I imagine the Yankees would like him to come back and play some more ball for them.

Headlines like that are turning me into a Fark Snob. "Subby knows the memes, but he uses them all wrong."

Thing is, as a liter, I shouldn't be seeing headlines this bad. That's why we have gatekeepers (i.e., admins).

My suggestion would be this: if you're not going to allow multiple submissions of the same link (and I can see why you do not), then allow TFers to suggest edits, tag changes, or new headlines before the link goes green (maybe add an "Edit" button to flag those suggestions for deletion when thread is published). Then publish the best version. Give the TFers a little something extra for their five bucks, and the admins some real editing experience.

Good news for the Yankees: Phil Hughes had probably his best outing of the season, holding the Rangers to just 2 runs over 8 full innings.
Bad news for the Yankees: their horrible lineup got complete game shutout by Holland.

I don't know what it is about that guy, but I just hate him for some reason.

CSB:

Went to an A's game with a friend of mine who is a Yankee fan.  Got some great seats (about 3 rows back) and just booed the crap out of him when he came up.  For some reason, no one else was booing so you could hear me throughout the entire stadium practically.

Well, his first time up he hits a double off of the wall and everyone around me is laughing at me, including my friend.  His second time up I still boo and he hits a home run - now people are going nuts in our section.  His third time up I'm starting to doubt my strategy but my unreasonable hate for this guy gets the best of me and I boo even louder...he hits another double.  At this point my friend is laughing so hard that he encourages me to boo Texiera's fourth at bat.  Now, I've got a big decision to make here:  the guy can obviously hear me and is making a statement about my booing, so should I finally shut up or still do it a fourth time?  "F- it" I say and boo again.  He hits a single.

The guy goes 4-4 with 9 total bases and I feel like an idiot as the entire section is heckling me.  Fun times.

End CSB.

/Hate the guy even more after that.  Sorry he's hurt.

But you remember your teachers, so that's not bad.
To be fair, my guess is Fitzpatrick probably sent a text to a student to tell them to fark off more so than anything sexual in nature.  He was an asshole, but he certainly wasn't like Gee more like Triplett.

That was pretty much my guess as well, though you'd think someone would've come out and said so, rather than letting the phrase "inappropriate communication with a minor" hang out on the line like that. That's code for "propositioned a student" more often that it is "was gruff and impolite." Not sayin that's what happened, but the language they used makes it sound that way.

TBH, I never had a problem with Fitz. Seen him a few times over the years at various functions. Surprised as all hell when that story broke.

/Never had Gee for anything, but it's a story that sticks in the mind.
