Two cans a day doesn't sound like much. I'm thinking something else musta been up with the kid. On the other hand, quit drinking so much caffeine and sugar, dummy.

Someone put up a 2 year old article clipping in the breakroom about how dangerous Monster energy drinks are because they killed 5 people in that year.

When you read the article, the people who died were mostly teenagers who were drinking way too goddamn much of it.

So parents are supposed to control what their adult children consume now?

An adult drank 2 cans a day of something that is legal and easily purchased at any convenience store or grocery store in the country.... and this is the mom's fault?

I don't know that 2 cans a day of an energy drink can kill you - my guess is that there were other causes involved, and I"m pretty sure I drink more than that much caffeine every day considering the amount of coffee I drink - but this headline is retarded.

You can actually eat marginally healthy at both places if you judiciously chose your menu items and portion sizes. You'll still be high on the salt intake, but nothing that excess water cannot take care of.

But who am I kidding, letting your kid drink 2 of these things a day is asking for a death wish so chances are high she lacked the rational ability to think through actions vs consequences.

Everyone knows if you want a real kick, just buy a preworkout mix. Ends up being cheaper and you get a helluva lot more stimulants!

I was thinking the same thing. 2 cans a day really shouldn't kill an otherwise healthy 19 year old.

My guess is that he was enormous. If he drank 2 cans of Monster per day, he probably wasn't counting calories.

You can also get a Salad at the Varsity in Atlanta, but 99% go for the Chili Dogs and Chili Burgers, washed down with a Frosted Orange and Fried Pie.

As this 40 year old peers over the 16 oz cup of coffee that just barely gets him going, I'm going to have to say I don't think this girl died from a three year old, 320 mg daily caffeine habit.  Either there was something wrong with her heart, or she was ingesting something else.

He drank it for 3 years, so he was 16 when he started, and unless he was a huge shiathead who got kicked out, odds are he was living at home under her supervision until at least 18.

Not a whole lot, no. Are you telling me your parents could have stopped you from buying things at a convenience store when you were 16? Mine couldn't even stop me from getting drunk.

We'll just to be safe go tell the loved ones you'll leave behind not to sue any corporations that may have sold you a dangerous product sold as an "energy" drink.  Cause that would make them total jerks.

He was 19 years old when he died, he was legally an adult, and presumably was making his own decisions.

I've had two a day for about six months once.  Had to stop because it tore up my stomach.  I also know people who drink nothing but energy drinks during the day and alcohol at night and I know of no problems with their health.  I think there may have been an unknown health problem that the son had and/or the mother is looking for a payday.

Hell no.  While they're at it they can sue Camel, Budweiser, McDonalds, Wendys, Taco Bell, Five Guys, and my wife.

I'll stick with Mello Yello & Sun Drop.

That right there can and will be used against her in the court assuming this goes in front of a judge. They have a warning label and it is clearly visible. The only stupid argument against that is it does not tell you to see a Doctor before drinking.

It will go before a judge.  It's California, a wrongful death suit that can be blamed on an evil corporation, even though Monster really isn't at fault, they'll lose.
