Fark You Oregon, cheating a-holes

Go Cougs!

Need some ice for that butt hurt?

Go ducks

I think its a slap on the wrist personally. No vacating of wins, I mean come on. You cheated. It's cool, Karma will catch up. Mike Leach is going to take WSU back to places we havent been to in a long time. I believe in Leach.

I hope the Cougs and the Dawgs smack the shiat out of Oregon in the next decade.

I hope that the Cougs and the Dawgs actually have football teams this year.  It's actually getting kind of boring beating you guys so badly every year.

this, haha :)

Go Dawgs!

Go Cougs!
As a Coug I can even handle a Go Dawgs! but eff Oregon!

Blasphemy! You can't be a Cougs fan and root for the Huskies on anything!

Meh, I married in. I'm a Coug, she is a Dawg. Makes for interesting Apple Cups. I still root for them to lose to everyone except Oregon.

Phil Knight University walks on violations..?  No shiat.  As if there wasn't enough reason to hate them.

theurge14: As a K-State fan I still have to tip my hat to Oregon.  They should've been in that title game last year.

Recruiting violations don't concern me all that much.  As the legendary Barry Switzer once said, if you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'.

If you don't beat Stanford at home, you don't deserve to be in the title game in the current BCS format.

Stanford itself deserved to be in the title game last year more than Oregon did.

Banned on the Run: Aar1012: Robo Beat: animesucks: their best strategy in avoiding a major punishment was not being named the university of southern california

Everyone knows you're A-OK so long as nobody got a tattoo out of the bargain.

Oh, good. I was afraid someone traded something for a Tattoo. The would warrant a bowl ban

Well, when complete disregard for rules is a central tenet ofthe  culture within a program, and tattoo trading is a result of said culture, then yes, it does warrant a bowl ban.

Not always.

Signed,
The university of alabama

P.S. Enjoy the tattoos. We get cars, rims, kickbacks from merchandise signings, free fishing trips, laptop computers, and the best deer antler PEDs money can buy.

Hopefully this doesn't won't diminish the quality of the cheer-leading squad.

Surprised. I thought they'd get hammered to the wall.

Not that they deserved more given the allegations made (an SEC team not named Miss. State wouldn't even get a second glance for violations this minor), but I expected them TO get more.

Oregon has much, much worse skeletons in their closet, but apparently the NCAA doesn't care about them. Maybe they'll investigate them when they investigate Auburn.

Umm, since I've noticed everyone representing their team, I guess it's my turn then:

GEAUX TIGERS, fark 'BAMA!

Ok, got that out of the way!

In regards to the article, the punishments weren't THAT extreme, but not being able to recruit is nothing to sneeze at either. So yeah, I'm not an Oregon fan by ANY means (I do have a soft spot for their mascot though..I love the Oregon Duck almost as much as I love Mike the Tiger), but hey, yall will make it though this (LSU football/players is not a stranger to trouble, lol) and continue to kick ass (at least on the field)!

tOSU did not get smacked for the tattoos; they got smacked for lying about covering up the fact the tattoos happened.  If Tressel had gathered the guilty parties in a room, told them "guys ignore what I am about to say for the next 10 minutes", and then proceeded to lamblast them for being farktards while an assistant coach made sure a local reporter was walking by to hear it, then assigned a 1-game suspension for each of them ... the NCAA would have named him Coach of the Eon, retroactively given every NCAA championship in every sport ever to the tOSU football team, and probably changed the rules to allow tOSU players to accept unlimited money and gifts.  Instead, he covered it up, and then lied about knowing about it (while simultaneously keeping studious records of all the communications with the administrations about the lying).  He was doing everything except openly begging for sanctions.  I know college coaches are walking ids with negative super-egos, but you would think they would learn: when one of your kids does something naughty, you punish him gently, ring up the NCAA and tell them, and then ask if you need to decapitate the player.  Coaching staffs spend immense time and resources trying to build a facade of perfection.  If you just ring up the NCAA every couple of weeks reporting ticky-tack shiat and requesting they review it to determine if they need to banhammer you, at some point they get tired of answering the phone and tell you to bugger off.  They will actively tell you to not report violations - then you start running the comfort women dungeon out of the locker room.

rugman11: Jesus Christ, that might be the most worthless punishment ever.

Bruce Pearl got twice as much time for lying about a BBQ. What a joke.

Erm... I hate tOSU as much as the next guy, but that's a wee bit beyond normal hatred. First part is pretty accurate, though - tOSU wasn't busted for idiots trading memorabilia for tattoo's, it was busted for lying to the NCAA about it in a manner reminiscent of a kid being told publicly by his father "Stop poking your sister." then the kid brazenly laying a finger on his sisters arm with a shiat eating grin on his face.

/don't know enough about the Oregon situation to really comment. Looks like there's quite a bit of punishment on Oregon, but whether it's akin to the father taking away the PS Vita but leaving the kid with an iPad or akin to the father taking away the internet for a week I can't say.
//How much of an imposition is losing 14% of your "football evaluation days" on a football program, or 33% of official paid visits? Just how much of a penalty is this to a potential National Championship Contender?

The NCAA had this investigation open for 2 years. It's not like they looked at the material, said "whatever" and slapped them not he wrist. I fact, Oregon came out and said they would self impose these punishment and the NCAA denied this action because they wanted to continue investigating.

The NCAA wanted so badly to nail Oregon. They found shiat. Unless you know more about the program than what a 2 year investigation came up with. In which case, you might want to tell them everything you "know".
