I'm not really sure how 2nd degree murder is possible in a case where it is alleged that the victim was shot several times.  This wasn't a beating that got out of hand, they picked him up, took him to a field and shot him, a lot.

FriarReb98: InmanRoshi: They probably will ultimately.  They do have cellphone tracking on Hernandez putting him at the vicitim's residence and then to the murder site the time the murder is believed to have happened.  Did they have that with OJ?

So basically, this will be the case that teaches perps once and for all to shut off their phones before killing people.

Even if you forget to turn off your cellphone, how about not actively coordinating your murder on it?

Hernandez, the prosecutor said, texted Lloyd about 9 p.m. on June 16 to arrange a meeting with him. He then texted friends in Connecticut to "get up here," the prosecutor said. Surveillance footage at Hernandez's home showed the football player leaving with a gun, the prosecutor said. He had also said he was upset and couldn't trust anyone anymore, the prosecutor said.
Hernandez and two others picked up Lloyd at his Dorchester home about 2:30 a.m. on June 17, the prosecutor said, as Lloyd's sister watched. After Lloyd was picked up at the home, Hernandez told Lloyd he was upset that Lloyd had talked to people he "had troubles with" at the Rumor nightclub in Boston on Friday night, the prosecutor said.
Lloyd texted his sister at 3:07 a.m., saying "Did you see who I'm with," the prosecutor said. When his sister responded, Lloyd again texted at 3:22 a.m. "NFL" and then "Just so you know."
Surveillance footage showed the rented silver Nissan Altima that Hernandez was driving went down the remote gravel road in North Attleboro leading to the industrial area where Lloyd's body was found at 3:23 a.m., the prosecutor said. "At 3:27 a.m., the car came back up the road, the prosecutor said. People who were working the overnight shift at a nearby business reported hearing multiple gunshots at about that time, the prosecutor said.

I sense that the Patriots, Bills & Fins will all be between 7-9 and 9-7, and the Jets will have no more than 5 wins for their dysfunctional butt-fumbling.

Im curious how the Pats season turns out, I dont think it'll be disastrous. I mean they've gone without Tom frickin Brady for a whole season and went 11-5. Granted they had some great WRs. I'm sure this season will be no different.

I don't know.  Bellichick & Brady took tghe Pats to the AFC title game with WR1 Reche Caldwell, then Matt Cassel got them to 11-5.  I'm not gonna flush this season just yet.  But I do see a hearty 9-7 or 8-8 from the Fins.

I would comment on shutting off your cell phone before driving around town to ice someone, but that would require some foresight and thinking. Kind of like dumping a body FAR THE fark AWAY FROM YOUR HOUSE.

Shutting it off doesn't turn off the tracking. You have to pull the battery.

I know. How about smashing the phone up?

I like to joke around with my GF all the time when we watch American Justice or Cold Case Files, things like, "they'll never find your body" or "they'll never take me alive" or "I'll be in Peru before your corpse is even cold".

Good way to keep her in line, I think.

TMZ has amended their story to say that the chewed gum was found next to a shell casing in the rental car that Hernandez was driving.  The presence of chewed gum in Hernandez's rental car isn't nearly as incriminating as if it had been at the scene of the crime.  The presence of a shell casing in the car...well that warrants an explanation, I suppose.  On it's own, it wouldn't be so incriminating.  In the context of all the other evidence that has been described, it's another piece of the puzzle.

This is an obvious racial argument, and Odin was killed because of his race. Aaron Hernandez is a white hispanic and we need to dig into his background to see if he had any other previous racial issues with other african-americans.
Im anxiously awaiting a statement from the Obama administration.

I knew it when the police showed up at his house, unannounced this morning. If it were an obstruction charge or something like that, they would've worked out a "surrender agreement" with his lawyer so that he could turn himself into the court, and avoid the perp-walk. The fact that they didn't extend him that courtesy told me that they had bigger charges for him, and that they viewed him as a flight risk.
