It should be legal.

uh... what?

yes, as long as you treat negligent behavior under its influence the same as driving while drunk.

Only for recreational use? That's pretty limiting.

What about for religious use? Or medicinal use?

Or to use maliciously against animals?

NAACP on the wrong side of history... again.

It should be legal.  I have no use for it, but throwing kids in jail for having it just makes for angry kids who've gotten an education by prison inmates, not society as a whole.  And anyway pot was originally banned because big bu$ine$$ said so, not because it was all that terrifyingly evil.  This prohibition has done MUCH more harm than it has done good.

That said, I've no use for the shiat.  It's been many a year since I've used it, and I have no desire to go back to it.  If that's your thing, fine.  i think you're kinda dumb for it, but whatever.  Which is how society should look at it - "whatever".

\Also, fark for-profit prisons.  Some things should never be privatized.  Ever.
\\Not a liberal, either.

Yes, it should be legal for adults.  However, there's no way the entire country is ever going to legalize it at once.  Probably the most pragmatic option is to treat it like alcohol and the let the states and localities regulate it as they see fit.  Of course, that will probably mean we'll end up having states with near-anything goes policies existing alongside the marijuana-equivilent of dry states and counties for many years afterward.

So.... ignored or a verbal warning for 4-5 separate incidents until someone gets killed?  And if you are rich, you don't go to jail?

\I know what you meant, and I agree

If only being high was the same as being drunk it might even make sense too.

Legalize it. Stop funding criminal gangs thru artificial scarcity.

One of the reasons for making pot illegal in the first place was to try to get Mexicans to go away. Apparently it's now used to keep black people in jail.

Our society would be better off if people would stop fighting race wars via proxy.
