(NBC News)   "The driver of the Taurus sustained also died," and "Chris Kelly of the Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating this accident." I saw this accident, and I still can't figure out what happened from reading this article   (nbcnews.com) divider line 47

FTFA: "NHP says for an unknown reason, Cloutier hit the front of a white Ford Taurus head-on."

Well, this is just a guess, but it probably has something to do with the fact that they were driving on the wrong side of the road.

The handful of times I've been involved in something that was reported in the news I've seen just how bad reporters all. In all of those cases they got the basic facts wrong. I therefore assume that this applies to the majority of reporting.

GFY I'm not criticizing grammar but content. Reporters get simple facts wrong more often than not. I'd much rather see their work checked for accuracy and content rather than checking spelling or finding typos.

As the presumably drunk guy who drove down the wrong side of the freeway was the only survivor, I think we can safely say that alcohol saved that man's life.

Sheesh, overreact much? For the record, it's not even grammar that you got wrong. To use your words, you got the content wrong (using an altogether wrong word that made no sense in your sentence, just like the article did.)

That first line made me think of: "Mr. Samir Naga... Naga... Naga... Not gonna work here anymore, anyway.  "

I'm imagining the author writing the article and attempting to innumerate the injuries, then just skipping ahead to "died."

I would venture a guess the young lady was also drunk.  So your presumption would be half correct at best.

I've always assumed that a lot of these TV station news recaps are word-for-word transcripts of the report, and no one edits them. We tend to ignore/forget the "ums", minor stuttering, and mid-sentence corrections when we listen to something, but they're glaringly obvious in a transcript.

The Major Accident Investigation Team should really catch up with the times and change their name to Major Collision Investigation Team since "accident" implies motor vehicle collisions aren't predictable, injurious events.

You've got to be kidding me. I've been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It's just common sense.

No one?

KRNV totally gives NBC a bad name. They suck donkey balls.
Poor writing, a crappy set, and frequent dull spots every newscast.
This is what happens when you're unwilling to spend money on the tech and talent.

Yes, I've applied there.
No, they haven't hired me. I'm probably not white enough or something.
