We certainly have a theme going on.  Women must SUBMIT - to whatever indignity they think up.

I'm not sure if it got a thread here, but the governor of Iowa recently signed into law a provision that any woman in his state getting an abortion needs his express permission.  He'll decide, on a case by case basis.

Eh.  As far as anti-abortion moves go, this is fairly minor.

I think a bigger story is their plan to shift the tax burden from the rich to the poor.

As despicable as that law is you have to admit it's effective.  Even if he's voted out of office the next guy around probably won't have time to review abortion cases or will be so busy reviewing abortion cases he won't have time to actually do the work of governance.

Either way, Hard-Righters win.

I've said this multiple times but the modern day GOP is going to have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. This abortion bill is a last stand for Texas, in 15 years they will be blue forever for the presidency, and I expect by the 2030 census their attempts to control the governorship and legislature will be gone also.

John Roberts is an idiot whose decisions on the Voting Rights Act and so many other decisions will be overturned in a matter of years. His legacy mixed at best and he'll be remembered much more for taking us back decades.

Largely they're not.  These aren't people who will listen to reason.  Their mandate comes from a higher place and they will go to their graves upholding it.

And quite frankly, it will be their graves that will see the end of it.
