No lighter more comfortable footwear exists.  And you can hose them off.

Lighter, more comfortable, you can hose them off, and you don't look like a tool.

But that requires putting a thing between your toes.  That's almost as bad as a hot poker up the ass in my book.

I recently bought a pair of Crocs and have worn them once - to walk around a shelter on the Appalachian Trail after 15 miles of hiking. Wearing them beat the fark out of walking barefoot in the mud after taking off the hiking boots. I wouldn't wear them in public, but as gardening shoes or in the aforementioned situation they serve quite well.

The only crime here seems to be the wearing of crocs. Being a lifelong beach boy, happy with my sketchers sandals and trusty old navy flip flops. Bonus: don't look like .99 cent clearance insane asylum footwear!

Megarian what's not contagious? The shrinkage? I'm scared now, scared and confused.

Agreed. I simply can't wear flip-flops for that very reason. That and I have to walk funny to keep them from falling off.

Works for me. I wear slippers to the store all the time.

The original Crocs are pretty goofy, but their Vans-style shoes are nice.

Crocs are like Comic Sans: there is nothing wrong with them; they are simply misused.

If having comfortable casual footwear is wrong then I don't want to be right. I just don't.
