I'll look forward to seeing how he reprises the John Adams character he reprised from Sideways.

Pocket Ninja: I'll look forward to seeing how he reprises the John Adams character he reprised from Sideways.

I'd rather he do an encore performance of his work from "Big Fat Liar".

So long as he stays away from his Lady in the Water character...

You're all wrong, he's going to be reprising Kenny "Pig Vomit" Rushton. It should really liven the show up.

My bet: Cross-promotion for being the Rhino in the next Spiderman.

He'll play the role of a major league baseball umpire who holidays in England.

I am personally looking forward to his character telling Lady Mary, "You are the Mother Farking Anti-Christ!".

Both of those pale in comparison to his "FBI guy who asks Johnny Depp to explain 'fuhgeddaboutit' in Donnie Brasco".

I'll enjoy his Inigo Montoya opposite Pete Rose.

The show does need an American of two for Maggie Smith to insult in a very genteel and cutting fashion.

Came for the Howard Stern reference. Leaving satisfied.

HE'S THE POOR MAN'S PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN, DAMMIT!

He'll be doing a riff on his boxing promoter character from Cinderella Man, I'd imagine. Maybe crossed with Bob Zmuda (Man on the Moon) or Harvey Pekar (American Splendor).

Whatever, dude is an awesome actor.

the guy can go on to have the career of gene Hackman and Michael Caine combined, and will still be known as pig vomit to a certain segment of the audience.

I poo-pood the idea of Shirley MacLaine being on the show but was delightfully proven wrong.
Hopefully Giamatti will add a little new-world upheaval to the drama.

Meh, he's a good actor so I'll give him a chance. Could make for some amusing banter with the Dowager Countess.

/Watched the whole series a couple months back.

//Really liked it but wanted to throw something through my TV during the last few moments of the finale.

///Way to selfishly throw a huge wrench in the series in the hopes of making it big elsewhere, David Caruso...er, I mean Dan Stevens.

Whoa, wait, what the hell? Since when do we not like Paul Giamatti?

It's strange. The older I get, the more I begin to resemble Paul Giamatti, except my tits are bigger.

I was disappointed in her. She played it too broadly, and the contrast between her surgically altered face and Maggie's was too extreme. Now, I'm sure that Maggie has had a few nips and tucks over the years, but they were subtle and expertly done.

Because the show is a stupid soap opera?

He got fat and stop doing nude scenes.

I didn't realize until now it was his decision to leave that prompted that ending. It really didn't jive with where I figured the story was going, and I thought that the writers might be trolling us (between him and the sister).

Appearing at a soiree, then going apeshiat when offered a glass of merlot?

Say what you will, the guy has some acting chops.

He held his own against Edward Norton and Jessica Biel's breasts in turn of the century bodices, and I'm like pretty sure someone said that Giamatti acted in that movie!

/Seriously, love me some Illusionist :)
