Well, there wasn't enough room in the car for the tshirts, the posters, AND the baby...

"The mess is not country. Country people take care of their messes. It's like city folks going to something and taking their city trash with them," said Jim Bennett.

You know some of us have actually seen front yards in the rural south. right?

Well whether it was 'irresponsible hoopties', 'country people', 'city folks' or 'local young people just there for the party', we can probably assume the most ethnic attendee was probably 'Catholic on his mother's side of the family'.

It is  a well known fact that only women like Chesney.  And the men come for the women.

"The mess is not country. Country people take care of their messes.  It's like city folks going to something and taking their city trash with them," said Jim Bennett.

As a former country person, I guffaw in your general direction.  There was a dirt road called "Dump Road" which was where people went to dump their trash.  This was not to be confused with "North Dirt Road" and "Skinny Road" which both existed for the purpose of trash disposal in addition to partying and fighting.

Something something heartland Johnny Cougar America.

Considering that the highways were a mess for miles outside of town*, I'm gonna guess that there weren't as many City people at this concert as Mr. Bennett would suspect. (That being said, we have a lot of trashy suburbs too.)

Is Kenny Chesney even really considered country anymore?  For the last several years he's been trying to re-invent himself as a younger Jimmy Buffett by singing about things like islands, boats, flip-flips, relaxing on the beach, etc.

I thought if the rumors about Kenny Chesney were true his fans would have left the place spotlessly clean and impeccably decorated.

My girlfriend listens to country, and when I'm subjected to the crap it seems like most of the male artists are doing the same thing.

Alan Jackson filmed this video at the bar down the street from my house.

That doesn't seems very "country" to me.

I've seen worse after Earth Day festivals.  The bottom line is that 90% of people are inconsiderate, selfish assholes.  When you put ten thousand people together, they don't suddenly become collectively responsible.  You just have nine thousand of those assholes in one place.

Not a Steeler's fan, but a Pittsburgher and any other event, including Steeler's games, it looks fine.  Maybe a few things here and there, but usually all bagged up and everything.  These weren't just concert goers, people just showed up for the tailgate too!

Are people allowed to show up and tailgate at other types of concerts? And does it look that bad after people tailgate at football games?

Of all the milquetoast country acts today, he bothers me the most.  What is the appeal of this munchkin?  Teeny little man in wifebeaters, squinting like his contacts are bothering him.  The music is even worse.

I mean, you can show up to other shows (DMB is another draw) but they usually just show up for this one, it's kind of like a Buffet show, but not as laid back.

And no, the parking lot does not look like that after a football game, not even close.

I've been going to Jimmy Buffet concerts for many years, and the parking lot parties are infamous.  At the end of the night, yea there's a mess (because 20,000 drunks just tailgated for 12 hours), but most of it is bagged up and put out for the trash collectors.  I've never seen anything like what was in that picture.

It's not that there's any particular problem with  white people, though. There's just that special class of white people. Y'know, crackers. Yes, I know the term's not something we use in our modern "politically correct" society, but I can't think of a better way to distinguish between the respectful white people that know their place and  crackers. Not  all white people are crackers, and it's really only crackers that are the problem. Some of my best friends are white people.

North Campus was (at least before they made it a "family zone") always where the worst of the worst tailgating a-holes hung out, and, for the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would have ever wanted to tailgate there. It was perpetually over-crowded, extremely noisy, and smelled like shiat due to the line of Port-a-Potties stationed there. The quad behind Memorial Hall, literally right next to the stadium, was always a perfect spot when I was there.

In a sentence: they're considered by those who decide such too rough-edged and eccentric and, in some cases, downright weird  to fit the demographic to which they and their station are attempting to (p)reach.
